Watching Luis Robert be amazing for us must be even more frustrating for Twins fans than most considering their mostly dashed hoped for Buxton

Harder to see illegal substances on you when you work up a nice sweat shine first Or he broke a sweat climbing the mound while carrying that girth could go either way tbh

Sox playoff chances sit at 100%, 3rd in AL for WS odds
gusguyman replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Matt Foster is actually tied for third (with Evan Marshall) most fWAR among White Sox pitchers, with 0.5 to Keuchel's 1.1 and Giolito's 1.6 Free bonus fact: Dane Dunning, after only 2 starts, is already next up, tied with Colome for 5th at 0.4 Free bonus fact 2: Dylan Cease actually has a better ERA than Giolito right now (3.00 vs 3.14) and more wins (4 vs 3), which tells you everything you need to know about only judging pitchers based on wins and ERA -
Players like TA, Engel, and Madrigal often get on base with the top of the lineup coming up, which means stealing usually reduces your amount of expected runs. When batting 5/6, Robert is the one guy you might want to see steal more (especially as the bottom of our lineup has come back to earth a bit).

If they keep this up, they might not just be competing for AL ROY.... they might be competing for AL MVP! -

If you'll allow me an optimistic take, I actually don't think 4 runs wins this for the Twins today. Now, IDK if we can hold them to 4, but if we do I think we win. -

You are the only person who thinks this. This is a you problem. This take is awful and you should feel bad. -
Why do you keep posting 1000 word analyses of the Padres on here? Not even on the Diamond club. You do know which team's board you are on right?

I'm wondering if the Dbacks asked for a piece that was part of our final offer for Lynn, but Hahn thought JD would cave in the end so he couldn't pull the plug to go harder after Marte.
-
Totally agree, JD is an idiot and was clearly asking for way too much for Lynn. The Marte trade, though, is the one I think that got away. I think we could have beaten that package without too much pain and he would have been a great fix for RF until we can find a long-term option.

Dane Dunning - Expectations now and going forward
gusguyman replied to ron883's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Dunning should stay in the rotation at this point even after everyone gets back from injury, even if that means ReyLo and/or Rodon to the bullpen. Hell, even a not stretched out Dunning seems to get us more innings than a stretched out ReyLo, and much more competitive too. -
Giolito!?!?! Oh wait, this isn't a trade rumor.... where am I? How did I get here?
-
Who let the bat boy in the pile? Oh wait, never mind, that's just Nick Madrigal

Going forward, is this weekend a sign of an elite bullpen hitting a slump, or a sign of an average bullpen crashing back to earth after a hot start? Makes a huge difference to our chances in the post season -

That Mazara PH went just like RR drew it up! If he left Adam in there, it would have been up to the 1st base umpire to call the check swing so he wouldn't have been on. Big brain Ricky -

I think we all agree that Dane isn't going 9, even without giving up a hit. So IMO, if he isn't going to finish it anyway, then there isn't much difference between 5 and 6. Stick to your original pitch count, and if that was 80, pull him. -

I think he decided before the game that Foster was going 2 innings, and so come hell or homeruns, Matt Foster was going 2 innings
