Seems like they have delayed announcing anything 2-3 times now, sure seems like they had more positives than expected and are delaying until a second or even third round of testing is done in the hopes that some were false positives.

I had no idea this was true, and in a very SSS his statcast numbers are pretty promising: His 112 is the 3rd highest max EV on the team, and he does have 4 hard hit balls in 3 games. To me, it is really interesting that, even with that 112 MPH contact, he has 0 barrels so far. The LA on that one (and all his hard hit balls really) must have been terrible. I think his lack of HR power may be more of an approach/swing thing than a body thing.

If you made them play on the moon but with 2015 baseballs it would probably even out

BABIP is a hell of a drug

Mendick looks like a guy who high school guys think looks like a guy who fucks

With a 4 run lead, I think I'd leave Cease out there until he gives up a baserunner now. If he can get a clean inning it would be a nice confidence boost, and he needs experience going deeper in games.

Yeah but its a short season so really its like a full seasons worth of hot takes in 23.382 games

Also Grandal not being able to catch our staff. Also Grandal being another washed FA signing.

Madrigal running full speed look like he should have the road runner / Wile E. Coyote leg whirlwind animation underneath him lol
-
If injecting Robert hype directly into my veins is wrong, fuck being right. All my homies love la pantera.
-
I'm pretty sure someone in the Madrigal call up thread predicted it would be 2 days before everyone turned on him lol, whoever that was come and take a bow

Watching that broke my brain, 3 replays later and I still don't understand how a baseball can bounce that high

I argued against TA leadoff too until he proved he could hit 300. I don't care about walks directly, but they make it much easier to maintain a high OBP. TA has proved he has a path to a high OBP without them, if Robert does too I'd be more understanding of batting him at the top, though I still think it is a waste of his power.
-
Robert's hit tool is literally his biggest question mark, and he's never walked much. He won't be OBPing 340 without hitting .300+ and it is definitely not clear he can do that yet. Personally, I do think he will hit .300 someday, but not until next year or the year after. I'm not saying you need Madrigal at leadoff. Tim has power. Yoan and Yasmani have power. I'm fine with any of them at 1. Robert doesn't just have power, he's on another level, it is a waste to see him do it with no one on base. Speak of the panther haha

I know I'm in the minority here but I hate Robert in the leadoff spot long term. Dude is gonna hit 40 homers a year, such a waste at #1, put him 2-4. Moncada, Robert, Eloy. Also, I don't care about speed at the leadoff because I don't want them risking SBs anyway with that murderers row coming up next. That said, totally fine with Robert leadoff today, because there isn't really even another option with Yasmani scuffling.

That play was so weird without cheers/groans/tension from fans. I love Jason but he doesn't help there either, since he never seems to recognize a ball has a chance of leaving until its been over the fence for 30 seconds already.

Me to all the Yermin fanboys right now

I'm curious where the management folks, who are claiming traveling cross country multiple times a week and spending all day in gatherings and athletic competitions are all as safe as as normal behavior, got their medical degrees. This is such dishonest reporting it's appalling.

The Miami plague bus is going to circle up and down I-95 for two weeks getting pizzas and pedialyte drone delivered through the roof hatch.
-
Yeah, I know there were other issues with it, but in hindsight making an AZ bubble and a FL bubble and playing the whole season at the spring training facilities was probably the only feasible plan, from a "surviving the pandemic" perspective anyway.
-
Miami bringing out the tried and true "plague ship" approach, nice.
-
How do you get more generic than "He's close"?
-
Oh sorry I misinterpreted what you meant. Right now 1st and 2nd in all divisions automatically make the playoffs I think, then there are 2 additional wild cards, so I didn't realize you were referring to the 2nd place auto-qualification as a wild card.

I don't think that is true at all. We are definitely a tier behind the Twins right now, but even in dropping 2/3 against CLE, I think we showed we are every bit as good as them. Two worst-case outings from starters on the road led to a 2 run and 1 run loss, and then a 4-0 shutout win. We are dead even in talent with CLE imo right now, and way more potential for growth.
