If so, he should see a therapist for all the self-hate he has about his chewing tobacco habits. Can't be healthy. -

LOL why does any baseball fan at all want pitchers to bat and run? -

That swing looked pretty motivated to me. I think Jose has been reading the board. -

He's been better, but he's (supposedly) a GB pitcher that has homerun problems. He is 32, and all of his peripherals have gotten worse every year for 3 straight years. I think we can find someone who is a better fit at the cell. EDIT: Or the GRate or w/e -

Right.... but you are complaining about OBP, the most basic non batting average stat available, and are upset it does not provide situational info? That is not the time or correct way to use OBP. Take a look at WPA (Win Probability Added) if you want situational sabermetrics. -

Geeeez, the Phils home run celebration music is awful. Shitty 2010 EDM remix AND the hells bells on top? A middle school "DJ" could do better. -

@ron883 Can you make a thread about Eloy sucking next? He could use a boost. -

walk Bryce here? EDIT: yup. I agree with it personally. -
It happens, but it is certainly very rare. That said, most of our prospects arriving/returning from injury/breaking out would be a good way to add a ton of wins.

Ricky's inspirational message on the line up card
gusguyman replied to harkness99's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm a guy who actually enjoys about 45% of your posts. You have a level of baseball experience most of us don't, and I enjoy that unique perspective. I don't want to see you be the next poster who is infamously known by a single name and automatically dismissed. But you get stuck in these pedantic, semantic, and/or circular battles, and seem to be unable to admit you ever even might be wrong, let alone that you are. The belligerence expresses itself in the fact that every post that disagrees with you turns into a 25 post slog of the same points over and over again. Stop playing dumb, you know you have a tendency to sink your teeth in to every single argument. When new points are there to present, that is fine and fun. Learn to let go though man. What is the point of spending time on here if everyone ignores you, which is unfortunately dangerously close to the truth right now. -

Christ, you're argumentative. Yeah, he mixed up his words but his point was clear : move coop to a position of honor outside the day to day operations. Maybe pitching coach emeritus, maybe promotion to some new VP, whatever. Your twin act of belligerence and then insisting you're one of the most reasonable posters here is getting real tired mate. -

With Moncada out for a couple weeks, I think we have a real shot at the 4th overall pick. However, this team has a history of dead cat bounces non-linear development that manifests itself in September. I could see us having an abysmal August, pulling to 2 games back of the Jays, then jumping up to 8th or something with a .500 September.

AJ Reed: BA+OPS = 570 (less now). I think it is safe to say the experiment has failed, time to cut bait and try someone new. -

Poor Mets. How can a team with this much pitching be this bad? Reminds of our 2016, except with an even more incompetent front office and ownership group. -

How much better would this feel if Moncada was up after Abreu? Well, I guess that wouldn't matter if Abreu DPs anyway
