  1. I have the biggest shit-eating grin on my face right now. Think I may fb message my racist uncle (Cubs fan) for the first time in months. How soon can we get the "Thanks Cubs" T-shirts?
  2. Who knows how missing half a season affects him. Still could use bullpen help too.
  3. Now Colome needs to go show Theo that he is worth Nico to replace Pedro Strop.
  4. FUUUUUUUUUCK YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
  5. Hot damn, I want Eloy to be the hero here tonight so badly
  6. I am guessing a DP wasn't what you meant by this? lol
  7. Sure, I'm not saying he sucks or anything. I was impressed with the way he worked the count, and It didn't help that he had to guard 3 inches outside the plate too, which is where strike 1 was. I just would have liked him to be a bit more aggressive there in a tight game.
  8. Normally I'd be happy to see Eloy walk... but I actually disagree here. With the utter shit we have batting 6-9 and 2 outs, Eloy should have been swinging at that fastball in the zone on 3-1.
  9. Holy shit, how much are the Cubs fucking paying this ump.
  10. Looks like the grounds crew really watered that infield today, might be playing pretty slow.
  11. Nova is only at 66 pitches, so I am sure RR will leave him in until he gets blown up. He is incredibly lucky not to have given up 6 already tonight, but he isn't at 100 pitches yet, so why not let it ride. RR decides his pitching strategy like he is playing craps.
  12. PSA: Danny Mendick is hitting .333/.447/.410 so far in June.
  13. Alonso is finally being phased out, now on to the Rondon petitions.
  14. Houston is 4th best in the MLB in BBs per game, 2nd best in Ks per game...?
  15. Too good to be true Still, good ABs, Hamels had to throw a lot of pitches
  16. Calling the Eloy grand slam now EDIT: Oh no Eloy looks like nervous Eloy, not swagger Eloy
  17. As of a few weeks ago, Yolmer Sanchez still had the second highest WAR since 2017 of any position player on the team, behind Jose Abreu. Yolmer is better suited as a utility player than a starter, but that is a useful piece, not something to just toss in the garbage. He is not the problem. Maybe you should get your eyes checked, they seem to be telling you the wrong shit.
  18. Kudos to RH for 3 amazing trades, but I can't separate them from his performance. In fact, they are bittersweet exactly because they are so great. There is a decent chance we end up with 4/5 of a really good rotation, a star 3B, and a star LF/DH from this trade. Tim Anderson was already around, and Luis Robert looks like another good international signing. That is a great core right there, so we don't need to get Springer/Correa/Bregman in 5 years from the draft. We are most of the way there. Which is why it is so damning that we haven't found those complimentary pieces yet. I have high hopes for Madrigal, and I like Vaughn a lot. But these trades highlight just how bad the drafting and FA signings have been. If Madrigal/Vaughn are good, and if we sign a couple good FAs this offseason, then I will happily say RH did a great job. He hasn't so far though. If we want to have sustained success like the Cardinals and Red Sox, we need to draft well now. Otherwise we will end up like the Royals: A 3ish year window and then a quick descent back to mediocrity.
  19. Especially for a guy who has the tools to be good defensively in both CF and RF. He doesn't need a great bat to carry him if he can polish his routes.
