  1. Gios composure was unreal there. Able to change his rythym and just attack with aplomb (and a couple assists from a soggy ump)
  2. Sox should have turned on the hoses during the rain storm. Would have been nice to pretend this game never happened.
  3. Because we will offer him neither the most money in a long-term deal nor a shot at the playoffs, and with the way our D has been playing, probably not a chance at a boosting his value either.
  4. I am all for bringing back James Shields on the cheap. 6.2IP and a 5.00 ERA seems like a mercy at this point.
  5. It is sort of hilarious that Ervin Santana was so bad that he couldn't make it more than a month in this dogshit rotation.
  6. So happy at least some people understand this. The rest of ya'll, I got some lottery tickets to sell you.
  7. That isn't how it works: Let's say Steph can shoot 20% from half-court, which is amazing and also a bad shot. He shoots 4, misses 4. All 4 were bad shots. Now he shoots and makes a 5th. You don't sit there and say it was a good shot because it worked this time, gotta give him credit. He made a bad shot I did some fact checking of myself, however. In this case, I will admit there is some room for debate. For the situation (1st, 3rd 1 out) the run expectancy of a squeeze is negative (so you are expecting to score less runs than if you did not do it). But, some people have argued that, at least with a good bunter, your run probability (chances of scoring a single run) are a touch higher. So in the bottom of the 9th of a tie game, probably a good call. With 3 outs left to get, it really is opinion probably, and how highly you think of Colome. 7th and earlier, it is no bueno.
  8. If Cordell pops that up it is a double play. If he misses it Sanchez is out at home, or in a run down. 1 out, 1st and 3rd, your chances of scoring are much higher letting the batter swing away (Cordell had been killing the ball all game too if you want to make a situational argument). Just because a call works or is dramatic and fun does not mean it was a good call. That said, it was absolutely dramatic and fun, so we may as well go lock up the W now.
  9. I think it's been reported that one doctor had already recommended TJ, they are just waiting for a second opinion
  10. How the hell are teams still allowed to have outfield walls that aren't padded. It is so unsafe.
  11. Rain shortened games are particularly bad for a team that can only score in the 7th and later. Out of fairness, I think rain shortened games should skip the middle 3 innings instead from now on.
  12. Looked like he thought it was off the bat
  13. Wow that ball was kilt. Wind/cold is the 4th OF today.
  14. Wow. Somehow, I never had a doubt that Tilson would make that diving catch. You could tell he had a perfect read on it the whole way. Lot easier to watch him out there than Eloy
  15. I kind of hope Gio gives up a double here or something - if he finishes out 3 quickly I could see RR leaving him in

I actually thought this reply was satire at first, did a double take when I realized it was OP.

Everyone already covered how dumb it is to conclude this based on such a small sample size, so allow me to point out another key flaw: Your stats show he is worse batting 5th, but he bats 5th predominantly against LHP. Who he struggles against. ergo time is a flat circle QED.
  18. My biggest concern with Hahn is the years long track record of abysmal drafts. The Cubs, Astros, and Royals rebuilds started with great drafting. They supplemented with free agents, but we shouldn't even need to do that because we traded great players for a bounty of stud prospects instead. Where are our homegrown reinforcements, though? This rebuild will not be successful if we miss on both the draft and free agents.
  19. Not much, just that every single statistic and scout point towards continued success for a guy that will be 28 when our window opens.
