If you want to criticize how many times the Sox have gone to the dumpster VS signing a good FA fine. But the whole point of dumpster diving is finding a gem in the trash. So yeah, duh, most of them suck. A few of them really worked out. I think Hahn's success rate on the shitty signings/rule 5/ etc is actually pretty decent.

As a white guy, I understand why it is frustrating to be told "you can't have an opinion on this because you are white." But seriously, just think a little bit. Just a little. The only reason this is true is because blacks were told for centuries "you can't have freedom/humanity/equal rights etc because you are black." We brought this situation on ourselves, so lets stop making it worse and just shut up for once.

The Anderson Saga (continued from game thread)

2 tips that will make your like immensely better. 1. Celebrate anything that makes you happy 2. Don't use other's happiness as a reason to be unhappy Just finished that monthly report you hate? Toss it on the boss's desk and do a little shimmy. Finally found the bug in your program? Secret handshake line down the row of cubicals. Nothing to celebrate? Celebrate the fact that you have celebrated 5 days in a row. And when you see your coworker doing their little shimmy while you still have hours left on your report? Don't pout, or sulk, or judge them for not meeting whatever arbitrary standards you have set for yourself. It's just misplaced anger. Give them a smile and a high five instead. Celebrate the mundane y'all. There's some absolute truth ? -

If this goes to extras we're really going to be missing Matt Davidsons pitching -

Is my lip reading bad, or was TA saying "I get it, I get it" as he walked off? -
Loving this interview! TA: "I don't hit em like that, so when I do, I know." JB: "Yes you do! You hit 20 last year" TA: "....yeah *smirk*"
-
Gio hit 96 again in his last start.
-
Oh god, please tell me the rebuild has not gotten so bad that we are trotting out Zack Collins as a reason to be excited.
-
OK, I tend to think Gio will end up being a fine or better 3. But come on. Rodon, when healthy, has shown flashes of truly dominating stuff. Ace stuff, if he ever figured out how to do it full time. Gio was the worst pitcher in the ML last year, and hasn't really even shown flashes of Ace stuff since he was still in the minors 4 years ago. What a BS comparison.
-
He's gonna be....... DA BESSSSS
-
Well fuck this guy, amirite? Total jinx
-
Good resilience from Gio today, but I want to see him finish strong. Seems like has always has trouble in his last inning, even on his good days. Or maybe Ricky just keeps putting him out an inning too long
-
I appreciate the optimism, but unless multiple OF prospects make massive jumps this year and make it all the way to the majors, our line-up is more than one piece away from "unbelievable."
-
Mainly because the pitching is still very high risk, and most of us no longer have faith that this FO can bring the right free agents to complete the roster.
-
WOOOOO I was doing some HW, and realized I should throw the Sox game on. Two seconds later, first pitch I see is Eloy's first HR. I take full credit, and I will be accepting bitcoin donations.

April 8 - Rodon v. Snell 1:10 CT (mlbTV free game of day)

Rentaria is hanging Fulmer out to dry here. He is missing his spots on every pitch. He has thrown 2.2 IP, that isn't enough? It is one thing for us to say a 3 run lead is insurmountable, but why is our manager apparently thinking the same thing? -

He literally had to dodge the bat head. Just shitty luck. -

I strongly disagree, this team needs all the help it can get. In fact, here is a list of over 300 gods. I say we all take a couple and start praying! I bet a few of those older gods haven't heard a prayer in years, they may help us just to avoid boredom. I'll start working through the Egyptians, anyone want the Norse gods? -
Our "Ace" would probably be their 5th starter. That lineup has plenty of holes, especially with injuries right now, but their SP would have to be plagued with regression/injuries for them to fall below .500 over the full season playing in this division.

I'm saying he won't agree to less. Acuna got an international signing bonus of $100K. He had made no money, so the Braves had leverage. Moncada got $30M. It will be significantly harder to convince him to play it safe, especially if he is confident in his otherworldly potential.

Well, after it snapped, before we knew
-
yes, he does

Correct, but "stabilize" in this sense was defined somewhat arbitrarily as an r^2 value of 0.5. That is hardly a guarantee, especially if we are talking about a player who is seeing a major shift from their previous 800 ABs in the MLB (and the minors too). But like I said, I'm all for the optimism about the 2020 MVP (He gives it a good shot in '21 but Eloy beats him out ofc).
