  1. My name is Kimbrel and my manager hurt my feeling because he took me out the last time I pitched, even though I couldn't find the strike zone. I am so sick and tired of Kimbrel. The real Kimbrel wasn't the one who was pitching for the Cubs earlier this year, it's the one who has got blasted for the last two years before this one, the guy the Cardinals embarrassed in the season ending series. He is the worst.
  2. I am so sick of Moncada. And people keep justifying him because of his defense. I just don't see it. That bunt attempt to day was so clearly an error. It got out to him and he should have gotten it on one bounce, for a major leaguer, that was an easy out. How many times this year has a friendly home scorer given hits for Moncada (and Anderson) on clear errors? A ton. And if anyone mentions his war, I'll puke.
  3. The Sox would be insane to trade Vaughn, insane. I would be bet anyone that Vaughn is going to become, AT LEAST, a .290 guy with 25 home runs a year for the next 15 years or so years. It's especially insane to trade him ffor someone as violable as a reliever who can be great for one or two years and then become terrible, cough . . . . cough . . . . Bummer.
  4. I just realized Vaughn is up to 10 home runs already. There is a very real chance he’ll reach 25 home runs this year, his first year with only 55 games, 205 at bats in the minors. Just phenomenal.
  5. At least .280 +, at least and with the 25 to 35 homers. Any talk of trading Vaughn is insane. With all the great bats in the Sox line up, I think Vaughn will quickly become THE bat in the line up, more than Eloy, more than Robert, beyond Anderson, anyone.
  6. Is Stone saying what, at least, 90% of the people on this board are saying: That whether he likes it or not, Eloy has to accept that he's going to be a DH and maybe some 1st base so that he doesn't get hurt anymore. Stone is being honest. Is that "lay(ing) in to Eloy"? I don't think so.
  7. Great, so for tomorrow's game, that's at least one total non-bat in the line up.
  8. Remember what Eaton did for Washington in the World Series? I do. I think we definitely want him around and healthy for the playoffs.
  9. Well, for God’s sake, quit going. Or least for Yoelqui’s sake. But really, that’s a drag. You go to see a prospect, twice even, and he stinks up twice. And even worse is that he was awesome the last few games before the one you went to.
  10. We never used the word “panic”, you did. Don’t put words in our mouths to cover up that you were wrong. There was nothing in the tone of posts/ questions that implied we were even slightly worried. We assumed CORRECTLY that there must be a reason why he wasn’t playing in the outfield, and we were correct. Come on, stop the semantics BS and admit we were right.
  11. Ha !!!! So I and "The Kids Can Play" were correct: there was a actual reason why Yoelqui wasn't in the outfield. We both expressed questions about why he was not playing in the outfield and only DHing. We were told to not "piss ourselves" and to "slow the roll on the panic". According to southsider2k5 there was no specific reason he wasn't in the outfield; he just needed to "settle in", or we just needed to "Give the kid a few days before pissing (ourselves)", or he was "walking into guys established in their spots". So southsider2k5, admit it; we were right. Yoelqui not being in the outfield was for a very specific reason: a sore shoulder, not just to get him acclimated or whatever BS reasons you gave. Come on, admit it: we were right, and more importantly, you were wrong.
  12. For the discussion about bringing Burger up and playing him at 3rd. Would it really be that difficult for him to be, at least, as good at Moncada at D on 3rd. And I'm not just talking about this 1st inning. How many errors or should have be called errors does Moncada have this month alone. Seems like more than three or four.
  13. Is this game on regular TV, one of the ESPNs or something?
  14. Especially for a guy, who for some reason, can’t play in the outfield for a single A team.
  15. Agree with this guy 100%. He has been killing us. IL him or whatever, but you can't put him in games we're trying to win. Let Burr or Fry or both replace him. If we're really trying to win the division and hang on until we get our outfielders back, you can't put him out there in a tight game. He's had more than enough chances to show he's coming around to his old form, and it obvious he's NOT coming around. So go with someone else, anyone else.
  16. Does anyone have video of the Yoelqui homer tonight?
  17. Thank you for agreeing with me. Eloy and Robert get hurt and we throw Vaughn into LF with almost no minor league experience anywhere on defense or batting and zero outfield experience and expect him to perform there and also bat at the major league level, (Hell, we've thrown Mendick into the outfield too) but somehow we HAVE to let Yoelqui get, at least, a week of at bats a DH before this 5-tool player can handle actually playing the outfield AND batting. OH MY GOD !!! We're putting too much pressure on this 5-tool (according to MLB pipeline # 1 prospect) to expect him to hit and catch some fly balls, you know play a position he's played his entire life, a position Marco Paddy said he was major league ready to play. Oh wait!? He's only been with the Sox organization since spring training, I guess he hasn't seen a fly ball hit to him or drilled any on outfield defense in the last few months. That must be the case why it's so ridiculous to expect him to ACTUALLY bat and field at the Single A level. My point is, removing all the sarcasm, is that it's a legit question to wonder why he still hasn't played the outfield yet with WS, and I was trying to have actual conversation on the the MILB forum of my favorite team. To ask the question is not pissing my pants, it was an attempt to get answers and start a conversation on a forum board. So don't act like I'm the one overreacting.
  18. It seems like every box score I’ve checked, Yoelqui has been the DH. Is that correct? Why is he only DHing? I thought he was this 5-tool player? In fact, wasn’t the concern that he was very good defensively and was only so-so with the bat? Why isn’t he in the outfield for WS? Does anyone have any insight or understanding on this?
  19. Yes, put Lamb behind Abreu. I think that some real protection would help Abreu more than anything right now. If he believed he could take a walk, maybe he'd quit swinging at those terrible pitches low and away. I know Lamb isn't great, but against a rightie, he's way better (or less bad) than Yermin.
  20. Sox have to be getting to the point where they realize that Rutherford just ain’t worth a damn. He was below average in AA, not sure what Sox expected to see when they moved him to Charlotte.
  21. Also gonna be there. As a teacher off for the summer, love during the work week day games. Gooooo Sox.
  22. Reality has caught up with Yermin. It has nothing to do with LaRussa calling him out. To blame his decline on TLR is just silly.
  23. Eloy is not gonna happy if he’s not playing LF. He has stated that more than once. Sox might be able to get him to DH while he “rehabs” for a week or so, but he’s gonna want to get back to LF and I would bet the Sox will do that, if for no other reason, just to keep him happy. I might be wrong, but I would bet, if he’s back in early August, he’ll spend most of his games in left field by September. And, I would agree with that decision.
