  1. Yea, but there’s not 8 guy’s on this team with his talent/lack of drive or urgency. He’s the one that needs to be made an example of, and I determined that by numerous reports and insider info of his lack of professionalism and work ethic by not making any adjustments. Plus, there’s nothing wrong with trying to get the man’s focus and drive back, by making him prove it.
  2. I believe the only remedy is tough love. Demote him to the minors, and make him produce and let him work on his approach at the plate. He’s the cancer in the lineup, and a demotion would shake things up in a positive way or prove that he’s just become to indifferent.
  3. If the Sox want to save their season- hit Josh Naylor and start something.
  4. It's like basketball, your not going to win a championship with 5 starters with the same skill set of averaging 24pts per game, shooting 3's and playing no D.
  5. Agreed, when looking at it individually and comparing player X to player y... There are some things that just can't easily be quantified with stats.. It's the reason why the Yankee's or whomever don't win the world series every year with hitters/pitchers with great stat lines.
  6. I'm saying the net overall effect of having a competent lineup that turns over and produces quality at-bats is the explanation of why more runs are being scored. Does it hold up? I don't know, but I do know we won a world series with something similar!
  7. In my humble opinion, the most likely explanation to account for an increase in runs while decreasing in Hr's is the subtraction of EE and Nomar from the everyday lineup. The effect of having two albatross's in a lineup is significant, and can only be overlooked/salvaged when hitting bombs like last year. Madrigal, Vaughn and Big Yerm having high contact rates and solid BA's has allowed the lineup to turn over and score some runs. The beautiful part is it's just getting started, and missing the two biggest pieces to supplement for the days that small ball won't get it done.
  8. The hiring just seems sad and desperate like if the Bears decided to fire Nagy and hire Ditka. The organization is in phenomenal position to do great things, and the first moment they have on the national stage to hire any available Manager and make a statement....They make the same old statement of trying to outwit or hire from recycled parts within the organization. It's a buzzkill, and this team/organization can't afford anymore buzzkills.
  9. Perception is the problem, and it was a major error for TLR and the front office by not reaching out the players before hand to get ahead of any perceived bias's or potential conflicts. It would have been digested a little bit better if the announcement came alongside with the endorsement of our core players. Now, they're playing defense and the players more then likely have already formulated the hiring as being negative and foolish.
