Frankly I have to shake my head at this. We are all human beings and we are all dysfunctional on some level. Every generation struggles with things that are affected by what is going on in that generation. I know plenty of boomers who "lack common sense" about a lot of stuff. Lack of sensibility tends to be selective, and inherent in just about everyone. Every generation has things that are pertinent that makes people of others (younger and older) shake their heads. Usually when I hear someone call another person an "idiot" I can make a solid bet that the one throwing the stone has absolutely at someone point lived in a glass house. Most people just don't have the humility to admit it. Always a way to justify it.

I guess we need to start elaborating in what the established definition of "great" is. Because his ceiling definitely looks great to me.

His "home run cuts" might never amount to them but if that means he's confident and perceptive in his ability to hit the ball hard that could lead to a lot of extra base hits and that would be killer.

I've already been there. There's just the shakiness of the chance of best case scenario happening for us. It's certainly not something we are used to.

I think Robert is the future leadoff guy. The good news is that we have a lot of guys who if they get anywhere close to their ceilings will be so good that figuring out where the ideal spot in the lineup to put them will be challenging. And that's a really good problem to have. Imagine Robert, Moncada, Anderson, Madrigal, Eloy all hitting at their peaks and then think about what Cespedes and Colas can eventually bring to the table. Good Lord.

I suppose you could make an argument but ultimately I think 9 hole is his wheelhouse spot.
