3 yr/ 100 mil would get it done for the Sox if he is sincere about winning. No one else is offering him that much AAV for a true championship contender. He can get 5 years from the Angels and Giants for sure...but that doesn't fit his recent narrative. If cease really makes the jump heres a question. Do you just keep Lynn for 1 season and sign Bauer for 3 if he will take it? This then assumes that cease and Kopech are legit. You can always offer lynn season by season going forward

Yep. They do that and lock up Gio and extend Lynn you literally have a championship roster locked for 3-4 years without many moving parts at all. Albeit a costly one...but the money is being spent!

Let's put it this way...if you are in game 7 of the ALCS with Aaron Judge up, do you feel more comfortable with Hendriks taking the 9th or Colome? Based on every game thread of the last two seasons it is pretty obvious. The Sox don't have to worry about their bullpen for their long stretch run. That piece of mind cost ... But imo it is only a 1 year overpay.
