Plesac and Clevinger Gone; For how Long?
EloyJenkins replied to Look at Ray Ray Run's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Either this is trying to up his trade value or the Indians talked tough, but backed off. Missing 2 starts is nothing. -

Paying the division rival tax makes him not worth it most likely. That is why I would rather go after DeGrom. go BIG if you are gonna gut the farm. -

yeah, rumors are that Yankees are all over Clevinger. If they get him...that is a MAJOR roadblock to the Sox competitive run. Devastating even unless the sox get an ace. -
Gotta win 7. Anything less would be really disappointing with the current run. I think I would be willing to lose a game or two to give Moncada rest.

Sorry, I meant deal Detwiler while he has this run!

If Bummer was still healthy...would you move him to some team starved for BP help? I mean, capitalize on that value?

That author trying to goad Cease / stievers / Collins is laughable. Hahn would get fired immediately. Now that deal for DeGrom...sure, but Mets are not accepting anything without either Kopech or Vaughn -

What can they really get though without anyone of substance. Trading to trade right now seems off. -

100% and that really limits the options down to trading one of Kopech, Vaughn or Both. -
How much longer do you wait on EE and Mazara?
EloyJenkins replied to Jack Parkman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Agreed, at the very least with EE he is an insane bench option in the playoffs to have. But he is gonna have a hot streak that will carry the team for at least a week or two, his career is proof of it. I am lost on Mazara. I need to dig up the sox quotes on him because they really made it sound like such a simple flaw. Is this on him for not being able to adjust to their mechanical advice, or were our scouts just completely off on his bat speed? Gotta sit him against lefties and really see if a deal pops up this week that could work. -

What if Kopech is a complete head case and never figures it out - peaks at a 4/5 at best? DeGrom is a SURE thing for 3 seasons + THIS years playoff run. So really it is 4 seasons of value. Yes, losing Vaughn would suck and he is gonna be great, but unless Bauer falls in sox lap, they are still a dominant starter short. DeGrom is the ONLY pitcher I do that for or Bieber maybe. I want to believe in Kopech, but he is still just a prospect coming off TJ. -

yeah, I figured Stievers or Dalquist would be in it. (Sox really should hang onto Stievers) 3 legit prospects and maybe a lottery ticket added. His contract is so appealing though it may be the one worth it. -

Checking out Degrom's odd contract makes him MUCH more desirable imo. I actually think Vaughn and Kopech IS worth it for a top 3 pitcher that would put the sox in contention THIS year. If they could trade him without having to pay any of the signing bonus money from this season he has almost zero payroll impact this season and next season is very manageable. Obviously the deferred money would need to be planned for, but Jerry will be dead by then anyways and we will have a new owner. If they move Vaughn, Eloy slots into long term DH situation and your needs then include looking for a RF and LF long term, but the rest of the team is absolutely set until 2024 and beyond if they are smart. Degrom / Gio / Keuchel / Cease / Dunning/Stievers is definitely a championship caliber staff and Crochet/Kelley would be reinforcements come 22/23. A BOLD win now move to me makes so much sense to nail the 21-24 strategy and it can start THIS week. -
that thought crossed my mind...But it can't be good and Robert would have to make 85% of outfield balls. NO.

Oh well. Great series, but being closer to first today would be mighty fine. 17-12 seems worlds away from 18-11 for some reason in this season. But pirates should help rectify that real quick. -

I am thinking Cease touches 99-100 today with that adrenaline. Hopefully it doesn't effect his control, but I can see his first inning being a bit of a rollercoaster emotionally. -
How much longer do you wait on EE and Mazara?
EloyJenkins replied to Jack Parkman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Agreed, it's just frustrating that it hasn't happened yet as the whole reason the sox pulled the trigger was that they identified his flaw and were prepared to fix it. The big worry is that you really can't fix bat speed, and his is horribly slow so far this season. -

I like this lineup. Grandal will get Abreu and Jimenez a chance to see quite a few pitches, and Robert has maximum protection today. Let's get it! -
