One at a time.  I will be watching til the bitter end.  Will take meaningful September baseball over the alternative every.single.time.

Yep. Season has been a comedy of injury errors and TLR buffoonery....but if they win 3 games here...just 3, they can do this.

People gotta stop factoring Sheets into this mix.  He's got an option.  Use it.  Sheets should be nothing more than an insurance policy for 2023, and he has very little to no trade value so you just stash him in AAA until Eloy gets hurt.  Its really just not that hard.

AV is the 1B.  Eloy is the DH.  OF is Pollock-Robert-FA in April, and then Colas-Robert-FA thereafter with Pollock 4th OF.  If the Sox rely on Sheets to be an everyday guy like they did in 22, they're going to be bad again.

Abreu has to go though. Love him.  Build him a statue.  Retire the number.  But you cannot resign him ---- unless ---- you get a trade offer you cannot refuse on AV.  But I don't think that is happening.

This is 100% where I am as well. Sheets could just be Palka 2.0. They HAVE to improve the outfield defense and Robert being healthy is a huge part of that. Pollock should be LF only moving forward even as a 4th outfielder, which kind of limits his usage. LF FA is key to this offseason.

And it isn't any coincidence that his longest stretch of the year healty has been with him playing DH so he can't hurt himself in LF.

Yep, him at full time DH, Vaughn as full time 1B and Colas as full time RF has to be the near term future. They really should think about picking up a LF FA next year to compliment the Cuban outfield. And i really dont see Pito having a place unless he wants like 8 mil a season.

  4. Given how flexible he has been this year with moderate MLB success - 1.18 Whip, good fastball spin and chase rate...does he have a future as a 5th starter next year, or just a taxi guy? Sox probably will need to replace Cueto and I think Gio is on the block, so interested to see what people here think.

Yes but the odds of Minnesota sweeping the 5 games, are slim and none, we can win 7 straight, is it possible? Yes, feasible no. Cleveland could be overconfident playing Texas and KC. KC loves to play spoiler. It’ll be interesting.

Minny has to show up and POUND the ball to get into the bullpen. With no off days the rest of the season for Cleveland that is the only way Sox can steal a sweep the next series is if they are completely out of pitching options.
