What would it take to get Nolan Arenado?
EloyJenkins replied to KnightsOnMintSt's topic in Pale Hose Talk
But at the end of the day we would still all skeet over it and this deal... -
Exactly. This is a win win for 2020 and beyond for Sox. They either have to pony up another prospect or deal falls through - No Maeda for Twins and they have a "damaged" reliever prospect. Good news indeed.

Here is the field...Outfield: Mookie Betts, George Springer, Yoenis Cespedes, Michael Brantley, Joc Pederson, Jackie Bradley Jr., Jay Bruce Betts is most likely gone. Is Springer worth the Astros Scandal risk? I say yes, but other than that...pickings are slim. JBJ could slide to RF potentially, but is he an upgrade over Mazara? Pederson is an option, but otherwise the class is just meh.

Last season nearly every FA acquisition they made had career years. Is that a coincidence...very well could be. Let's hope it was a mirage that isn't sustainable this season and they come crashing down. I just feel with Donaldson and Maeda moves...they are the clear best in the division until another teams proves so. Sox have the talent...but it needs to click. I am hopeful it will. 2021 is looking much more realistic though after the eternal optimism everyone had a few weeks ago before they made smart moves for their short window.

Was it a reaction. Yep. Overreaction...debatable. Massive. NO. that is just an attack to get likes. The Dodgers got much better last night. (Sox may have to face them in the WS the next few years still...and Sox lost out on the best "potential" FA and perfect fit for the team) The Twins got better (They always find a way to maximize a guy like Maeda) - But I like that they lost a long-term piece. I simply said it wasn't a great night...Compound that with the fact that nearly everyone on this board liked the fit of Joc, but that doesn't mean the Sox still can't get better either with a Holt or similar type and a nice trade this summer. Enjoy your likes though.

Not sure what to make of this whole scenario...but the Dodgers are significantly better at a very cheap cost. Price will have a renaissance in the NL and Dodgers are the team to beat yet again. Maybe, just maybe they finally win it all. Dodgers most likely will re-sign Betts also...so those dreams (never realistic) are over. had to edit for Moan... Twins are better, 2020 is theirs and honestly 2021 is a whole lot tougher now. This is not a great night for the White Sox.

The absolute worst. At least it's a one and done.

They called Miami "Florida" and spelled Cincinnati wrong...so I think that is your answer.

288/340/590 45 hrs, 45 doubles, 102 RBIs and some very sketchy defense

Never going to have a fresher, stronger arm than this season, right? From everything I've ever read coming back from Tommy can add some mph and a ton of strength to the tendon. We will see. I just hope he finds a solid, manageable pitch speed that is still effective and sustainable. This rebuild is kind of dependent on him, cease and Gio being near elite.

Hahn is going to quickly lose all the monies for making the team better if he overcommits to every single prospect. I love Madrigal...but it just doesn't make sense to speed this through. 2020 is competitive window opening...not the WS year. 2021 is when it all comes together and the 2-4 year window is truly open.
-
That is way too late imo. Just lose the year if he is 100%.
-
I applaud him for apologizing. I do not approve though of the extra meatball attitude of clubhouse sanctity. Hopefully this is out of the way now and focus can be on his 2020 improvements.

Offseason 2019-2020 MLB Catch All Thread
EloyJenkins replied to iWiN4PreP's topic in The Diamond Club
I am eyeing the idea of a bigger penis...but reality will set in. Wil Myers as part of the return makes this a laughable idea. -
I love the idea of zobrist. He brings a lot to the table and always have loved his attitude.

Boras will get 3 years for him...Rangers or Cardinals will bite.

Steve Stone Hinting At Another Move: Not Puig / Castellanos
EloyJenkins replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This is a legacy move for Trout to put the Sox over the top for a 3-peat and secure his GOAT status. -
Steve Stone Hinting At Another Move: Not Puig / Castellanos

agreed. With Engel's splits last year I am totally cool with that. Pence would strictly be for good hitting numbers and veteran Grit. Grindy. -
Boras wouldn't accept. It would have to be more...for ego reasons alone.

Steve Stone Hinting At Another Move: Not Puig / Castellanos

Hunter Pence? He really played well last season before the injury. -
They gave up a pick for a one year deal? This reeks of doin something after the egg from Donaldson. Poor work by AA that hurts the Sox as well

Reconstruction: The Realities of TJ (Ryan Burr)
EloyJenkins replied to CWSpalehoseCWS's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Really rooting for him. Another nice piece out of the pen would be important -
A more enthused booth is always a better booth. Stone knows his stuff and is a great compliment to benetti. Lots of winning to watch for this duo, and it should be fun.

Would you extend Nick Madrigal? For how much?
EloyJenkins replied to Bananarchy's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Extend him a high five for his first hit in mid April and relish in the fact the sox saved some money for the long haul. -
Im going bold. Robert puts up a 3.5 WAR, wins rookie of the year, and has a playoff walkoff THIS season. I'd kiss Hahn today if I saw him.
