Adam Eaton...would actually be a great fit. Cost would be too high I'm sure.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Robert struggles to start his MLB career like Eloy. His strikeout to walk rate isn’t the greatest and he will get pounded with sliders low and away early and often.
This is why he needs to leadoff to start his career. With starters trying to establish their fastball the first 2 batters every game, it should allow him that Soriano style leadoff HR threat. While this will not be his endgame and his final role in the lineup...I think it will maximize his FB hitting ability and gain confidence right away in the league.

Wouldn't be surprised if he might be fighting dead arm. I believe his FB velo was lower than usual. He also had a bit of bad luck. An infield single hit off of 3B and shot straight up.
His speed was down a tick...and having Castillo catch surely didn't help. Framing was bad. And bad luck for sure

Umps just said...nope, we want this game under 5 hours. Really sad

On the bright side, the Braves won’t bat in the 9th, so it may keep this one under 4 hours.
The crowd is so dead already
Everyone is like...7 more of this...

Sorry for that
It's okay. It's our only chance to see them live and get my son hooked on the sox over the braves...and they have looked like a AAA team so far this weekend

Fuck this game. I'm leaving soon

If Castillo isn't DFAd and Collins brought up this week I'm going to cry

Castillo just does not call a good game

At the game. Lopez has nothing tonight

I have a hope that Cease is going to be good in this league...but so far the results are not very encouraging. The FO MUST sign 1-2 elite or star level pitchers this offseason or this entire rebuild is going to hinge on hopes that Cease/Kopech/Lopez can figure it out. That is too many variables for my comfort level.

So catching position could be set for next 4 seasons. I like that.
-
we all overreacted to the Cubs game...was that a dead arm period potentially? Glad his Elite #2, potential ace status is coming back. Cement Cole as the real #1 and oh boy...
-
LTP. He is going to be dynamic for the next decade.
-
If sale gets the TJ that everyone expected...Sox absolutely win that trade with how good moncada has become and kopech set for a nice long run.
-
I am conflicted on Grandal. Love his bat. Love adding a star catcher with Vet experience...but Collins really needs a fair shot. If his recent raking is the final adjustment he needed to make, him/McCann make a great pairing, we get another lefty presence in the lineup and Abreu/Collins/Vaughn all can jump between 1B/DH for the next 2-3 seasons. Vaughn is the one that makes me think Grandal is not needed, as his bat will work it's way up by next Fall IMO. They should commit to 1-2 star quality pitchers and stay home grown for all these position players. Keeps the window longer and allows a couple early signs for Moncada/Robert as an option.

Action in practically every inning. Any kid going to this game as his first is probably hooked for life. That's how Sox fans get made.
I thought it happened when the daddy Sox fan drinks several 312s and mommy Sox fan makes animal noises behind the closed door with him...

Robert HR shy of the cycle, after his 2B scores Nick M.
Glad to see him break out of mini slump. I'm sure it's boredom at this point

Real good first inning. Slider and a 96mph heater could lead to a great game today
-
Cole should be a FA 100% now. No way he stays on with them...let the suitors and briefcases of cash line up...
-
Good thing you only need 25 for a roster. The starting lineup by 2021 will be incredible. We just need to relax through this absolute garbage now and hope they buy two really really good starting pitchers. The doldrums of 30-40 on most teams doesn't look pretty I'm sure.

Double for Robert in the 8th.
2 BBs, a single and a Double is quite a productive night.

after further review...NOPE.

tool or not...he is good in the outfield, can hit and is left handed. the options on that list for left handers is vomit inducing. this team needs a lefty pretty badly. like I said...price will be too high, but I really can't think of a better "need" fit.
