NICE recovery. This dude may be seeing his potential realized.

This is the type of play that you should be attacking the first pitch. runner on third, new pitcher, gonna want to get a FB over immediately. Hopefully Yoan is ready to jump on first pitch...bleachers.
Edit. Dangit...it was right there Yoan.

Nova's walk off the mound after a punch out is SO sweaty Freddy and I love it.

They’re fine with a lot of shitty things. They don’t care.
I don't agree with that. I think it is more...they are loyal to a fault. Same issue with the Bulls imo.

I just wish Engel could hit. His routes are near perfect every time.
-
Nova with GREAT break so far in 33 degree weather. That is very encouraging.
-
Eloy needs to focus on oppo right now if he is gonna chase those sliders.
-
Rondon definitely called it. I blame him.
-
that was the worst reaction to a routine line drive I have ever seen.

It's very rare for a pitcher to change his arm action. He's been throwing a certain way his entire life and to change that when you're 25 years old is extremely risky especially for a guy who has already had an arm surgery. He's going to put stress on muscles and ligaments that may not have had stress on them before. Obviously I hope it works out but I'm not sure he was at the point in his career where he had to make a major adjustment like this.
what choice does he have? Either change it and stay in the league or be out of baseball in 2 years. If he has another 7ish ERA season, his chances at sticking in the league as a starter are over. He doesn't seem like a bullpen candidate to me either.

no matter the outcome....Love to see this fight. Maybe just maybe, Keller was that good today. Let's tie this on first pitch.

wtf was he looking for on 3-2? A slider, shitty approach. We'll take it.
Soler seems like a headcase.

ELOY time. ROY starts here.

Love the approach tho. More of that plz.
Agreed. Swing aggressively and often against opening day jitters. No issues on that top half.

Just went live. LET'S GO!!

Why are you guys so anxious for the game to start? It's not like they have any chance to win the World Series or anything.
I don't know enough about mod activity here...but how soon can this guy get banned?

The White Sox lineup
1. Leury Garcia (S) CF2. Yoan Moncada (S) 3B3. Jose Abreu (R) 1B4. Yonder Alonso (L) DH5. Eloy Jimenez (R) LF6. Daniel Palka (L) RF7. Tim Anderson (R) SS8. James McCann (R) C9. Yolmer Sanchez (S) 2BAlonso is lucky he is a lefty. But other than having Castillo in place McCann this is the about the right to start. I think by mid season if Anderson really improves his OBP and Eloy is as advertised a 2-6 of Moncada, Abreu, Eloy, Palka, Anderson could be realistic.

Excited for real ball...even if we have to be patient into the evening. Let's Go to a year of improvements!
-
Eloy, Robert, Harper....oh what could have been.
Anyways - Eloy, Robert, Basabe will be really good in 2020 at some point with L. Gonzalez chomping at the bit. Jon Jay will be serviceable this season as a bandaid for FA failure.
If Rutherford rakes this season I fully expect him to get packaged with some relievers and prospects for another starter.
-
75 absolutely frustrating wins. They have potential to win 82-84 with their lineup, but pitching and defense is gonna a be their bane. I'm excited about Eloy and Moncada though. Gotta feeling they click.

I have been a long time lurker here...can't remember being inspected anally so much. That probing feels... underwhelming.

Ouch, topping off at 91? This could be like the Shields experience all over again.
The beauty this year though is he is much cheaper so Banuelos can step in until Cease is ready. Will be interesting to see if Cease gets a locked up contract and they bring him up sooner if he destroys AAA.
-
I think Cubs are just trying to give happy reality check. I don't think they are looking to trade him yet. If he comes up and struggles again though...I'm sure they would take offers.
