  1. See you for the playoff push in 2023 Garrett.
  2. all this overreacting on spring games is so hilarious. Keuchel may be toast...but how about they get out of Arizona, which any baseball fan of more than a couple years knows is where off-speed pitches don't spin. Give him 3-5 starts in April/May and then reactions can fly.
  3. I like you way more when you are happy and not bitching. good post and this breakdown looks correct. Plus...Leury can't play the outfield when he has to start at 2B for our shitty Harrison acquisition...right? ?
  4. so...everyone good with Pollock jacking one off Kimbrel in game 6 to win the WS? Calling it now....
  5. He is expected my dude! I have him at 8+ WAR this season. I meant specifically in RF and LF. Elite now across the board.
  6. The worst part is the service time loss. The injury was honestly expected, but the lengthened pitching window is gone on both Kopech and Crochet. Major bummer
  7. the player option is 10 mil though. So I get the 5+5 is more than 10, but Is he really going to get much more than that as a 35yo with an injury history? Depends on his season success. Andrew McCutchen is the only FA over 35 to get above 6 million for a contract that I can find in recent years (and it was a 1/8.5 mil deal) 34 year olds Calhoun (5.2) and Tommy Pham (7.5) also around that range, but mostly it falls in the 3-6 mil range at that age level.
  8. At 34 (35 at time of option) this is really getting a 2 year 20 million dollar deal. on a competitive team...that doesn't require him to play 600 abs, I see zero reason why he doesn't take the 10 mil to end his career. This aligns perfect with Cespedes and Colas incoming and is miles better than a 5 year Conforto deal IF those guys are good enough to be starters.
  9. Pollock being healthy in the playoffs is ALL that really matters. Him putting 300-400 regular season at bats is expected, but an outfield with him and Engel as late defense is ELITE.
  10. I called this weeks ago as a great fit and LOVE this. Robert can get some rest occasionally and Vaughn/Sheets can be a great DH combo. This team got MUCH better and picking up Kimbrel's option looks genius now.
  11. honestly his impact THIS season was going to be just mediocre....but this is devastating for extending the window with TJ coming surely and service time lost. this on top of Kelly is really bad and Manea may be a panic move now that further hurts anything beyond 2024.
  12. I think they can. Note this explanation: Teams “may not assign [a player’s] contract until after the next June 15” unless “the player gives written consent to such transaction,” according to the CBA. That language applies to qualifying offers, which means teams must keep and pay each player who accepts the offer until next summer at the earliest unless teams obtain permission for trades. Conforto would clearly give consent. Like I said, it's a major grey area it seems, but worth exploring.
  13. I read that there potentially is a loophole if it's the current team or something like that. The rules seem very murky and like I said...MLBPA and MLB wont like it...but if he is getting 12-15 mil offers and Mets can offer more, it's worth exploring.
  14. I still think the Mets signing him and trading for Kimbrel should be in play. He loses the draft pick stigma, and hell at this point with his value in the dumpster...sign him for 16 mil and it's an even swap. Conforto doesn't make his QO salary, but get's somewhat close and this year is his prove it deal...and Hahn makes up for his bad Kimbrel decision. Mets already over the tax so they strengthen their team. I know this is not a tactic the player's association and league will be happy about, but at this point it may be the only way for Conforto to get close to a fair market deal for THIS season.
  15. Philly is going to have the worst outfield defense in the history of MLB. This move surely is depth with the possibility that Sheets is moving to full time DH now.
  16. Just turned stuff on... Gosh i hope AV is okay. If anything this makes him the DH now if hes okay, right???
  17. Someone had a brilliant idea on MLBtraderumors - Cohen is just the type of madman to do this and Conforto could wave the no trade rights because he gets paid more than the the QO he said no to. It's shady as hell and requires some balls, but man that would be BEST case scenario for all parties.
  18. They had an article last week about Sheets commitment to RF and another fluff article yesterday about Vaughn being more prepared for the outfield...either they are trying to mask their interest thru silly water carrying articles, or they really are clueless and willing to put horrible defense out in RF 75% of the time.
  19. agreed. this is getting old already. the typical should be TA, Moncada, Robert, Abreu, Grandal, Jimenez, Vaughn/Sheets, Engel/Sheets, Harrison
  20. Maybe offer harrison or Leury 500k less than their bloated deals? I hate the money purse of this organization. And with the Bulls spending money at will these days...go away Jerry Reinsdorf!
  21. For me its the Astros. They lost their best player and heart of their cheating asses. For as much grief as Sox fans have had this off-season, their big signing was Niko Goodrum. Verlander may have some ups and downs post TJ, McCullers is still having issues and may result in a shut down at some point and losing Correa is going to have a massive effect on their defense. The only saving grace they have is a weak division, but i just dont see them being a true contender threat anymore, just a really good team that could really stumble out the gate
  22. 1st and 3rd nobody out and heart of order goes out without a run. Start the season...they ready.
  23. Dylan Cease is 3rd in Cy Young voting
  24. If spot is still available - I will do it and request the Acuna team here. thanks.
