  1. Tim was a + defensively last year despite being an abomination at the plate.
  2. Outman is just a guy. He could be some sort of component but he shouldn't be the focal point of any deal
  3. I get this, but aaron bummer sucks. I'll take 4 guys who likely suck for 1 because the math is in my favor on maybe one not sucking.
  4. Yup, Atlanta had a serious roster crunch. I'm not a huge fan of shuster or soroka post injury BUT for aaron bummer there nice depth and lotto pieces.
  5. The Sox are stripping it down to the studs and preparing for some kind of sale imo. This is a horrible way to do it, but it's an archaic way so it's right up Jerry's alley. This explains pretty much every decision they've made.
  6. You're the only one calling people dumb for having a different opinions on how a guy announces a baseball game.
  7. Oh no, someone has a different opinion about a guy in the media who's a friend of mine so they must be dumb. As someone who liked benetti, this commentary about people stopping watching and following over a announcer is embarrassing at best. I watch baseball for the game. I go to games where there are no announcers and I enjoy it even more. I often mute games on my tablet so my wife can watch tv... because I'm a fan of baseball. Benetti is going to be just fine. He doesn't need his media buddies to go defend his honor everywhere. In media, some people like you and some don't. People aren't idiots for disagreeing with that.
  8. People in the media geniuenly believe they're a big reason why people watch. So holmes won't go to games because benetti doesn't call them on TV? So he has to watch all 162 on TV instead? Or I guess they're boycotting part of their job. I watch baseball to watch Robert. Benetti's job doesn't even exist without Robert.
  9. You media people are about as delusional as it gets.
  10. Absolutely hilarious this guy said he doesn't like his team. No idea how any coach recovers from that.
  11. You throwing a surprise party this weekend to celebrate?
  12. Which is my exact point, it wasn't his dream.
  13. Doubtful it's more than money. It's a job, most people want to be paid what they're worth at work. He wanted the flexibility and top line dollars for the baseball role, which makes complete sense. I just don't need to hear how it was his dream in life and he was being forced to leave it. You don't abandon dreams over contract dispute.
  14. Jason benetti is making more than enough money to not have to change jobs to make the absolute most.
  15. I had a childhood dream to be the White Sox GM. If I was making millions to do it, I wouldn't give a damn if someone wanted to pay me more. Reality is, the narrative that it was his dream is just a part of his story. He was a Sox fan growing up, but he clearly views this as a job and not a dream. People don't care about maximizing their earnings entirely for dreams. Just my opinion and not a shot at Jason at all. It is a job, but people need to stop with this narrative that it's so terrible he had to abandon his dream. I'm sure Jason is doing just fine financially
  16. Correct, the product sucks and having some guy talk about s%*# doesn't turn it to diamonds. Benetti was fine, better than most but who cares? I'm watching baseball, not listening for an announcer. They can add to a solid product but they absolutely don't prop up a s%*# one.
  17. There were a ton of misses with the rebuild, but la Russa over bochy really sent things downhill. He's the best manager of the past 50 years and it's not close.
  18. I want it on record, unless I'm wrong then everyone forget it, I am intrigued by Eder still. Big guys take a lot longer to put it together command wise sometimes, and command and stuff taking a step back later in a coming-off-injury year is totally normal. The concern for me is health - can he even get enough reps to find the pieces. I still think there's a lot more to complain about than him and while I wish we still had burger, Eder is a lottery ticket I think cashes more than not and his upside is exciting.
  19. Agreed, which honestly just shows you how big of a dbag bauer is!
  20. Actually being impossible to work with often times leads to not having a job.
  21. Bauer wasn't banned because of what he allegedly did at the time: 1. Bauer was banned because he's a prick and he's universally hated; when he was accused and being investigated, he attacked baseball. Meanwhile, someone like Marcel Ozuna and Urias have committed terrible acts but they've shut up, been good little soldiers, and were admitted back into the game. 2. Bauer faces 3 other accusers currently. Could it all be BS? I mean, I guess but this really is a reflection of what an asshat this guy is. I've said this before but baseball, generally speaking, is a conservative game; players lean towards being conservative, leadership certainly is, and politically speaking Bauer is not an outsider. He's just such a d-bag that the only friends he ever makes around the game are guys like Clevinger. Both Clevinger and Bauer might not be woman abusers (they also very well might be, as where there's smoke often times there are fires in that world), but they're shitty human beings even beyond your typical rich-prick standard.
  22. Kapler would be an awful hire. The guy covered up sexual assault when he was with the Dodgers. I'm good. https://www.theringer.com/mlb/2019/2/6/18213283/gabe-kapler-los-angeles-dodgers-philadelphia-phillies
