  1. Bryce harper has received his fair share of criticism too but for the most part it effects players from Latin culture more, as they play the game in a MORE FUN way.
  2. i love that fans are constantly being told to turn the product off; if its a 7 run game, we're done trying so you should stop watching.
  3. Your post excuses his actions with some rationale that he knows the other team. This guy threw his best player under the bus for trying to score more runs... all because he used to coach for the other team. Flavum if the rangers come back in a game from down 7, do they say the win doesn't actually count because they were down so much? I doubt if Rick Renteria was telling his players not to try in situations you'd be both siding the discussion.
  4. tinglers job is to do what gives his team the best chance of winning. Intentionally trying to score less goes against that. He should be fired. Teams have blown 7 run leads before. He should lose his job since his number on objective isn't to do it properly apparently.
  5. So tingler is shaving runs because he used to coach for the other team and you think that's an OK reason? He messed up? Lol this is the big leagues, managers shouldn't be giving take signs.
  6. What is the highest level about not playing a certain way depending on score? The Padres bullpen is decimated.
  7. Trout has had k rates has high as 26% multiple times in his career. His adjustment to not striking out came over the past couple years.
  8. I agree with part of your first point; it is literally Woodwards job to protect his players so him ripping him means nothing to me. My entire issue is with Tingler the dingle berry ripping into his own player for hitting a grand slam instead of taking a pitch. That is so comically absurd. Anyone who thought Ricky was the worst manager in baseball needs to give that title up, because Tingle stole the show. Hosmer and Machado had a talk with him; Hosmer literally told the Rangers dugout he'd talk to him right after he hit it. It's embarrassing for the game. Tatis hit a grand slam to take the MLB home run lead as a 20 year old kid and his manager is talking about how it was mean to do to the other team and his own teammates are saying he was wrong. Zach Davies the only Padre that got it; the Padres bullpen is trash too which is why this is all so hilarious. So wait? Are you telling me if the Rangers came back from down 7 in the 8th that they would have said the win didn't count? If MLB wants a slaughter rule to protect feelings then implement one, otherwise stfu and take your grand slam beatings like a man.
  9. 8 people voting for Tatis might be the dumbest thing I've ever seen on Soxtalk. There are 8 people here who would rather have Tatis Jr than Mookie Betts. ? Additionally Caufield started a best player sans Trout poll and left out the player leading everyone but Trout in WAR over the past two years - Yelich. lol
  10. In addition Sox fans need to get over Tatis; it's just weird. The Sox have started to show signs of being a good drafting/developing organization and when you become that, you're inevitably going to trade away some lottery tickets and talent that pans out.
  11. Why do people continue to compare untimed sports to timed sports? Also, why are you excusing a manager's inability to accept the realities of the game? Tatis' own fucking manager called him out for playing hard and playing his game regardless of the situation. That's so damn embarrassing. Hosmer and Machado TALKED TO HIM lol. Machado is an asshole; he literally has done dirty and cheap things on the diamond that could cause injury and he's going to give me a speech on what is right and wrong about a 3-0 count swinging away? Tatis should demand a trade. The Nationls blew a 4 run lead yesterday in the 9th. The Rangers have scored 16 runs in the 8th and 9th inning in a game before. Baseball has no clock, there is no point in which you should stop trying to hit the baseball.
  12. A starter has to pitch 5 innings to qualify for the win. If a starter doesn't go five, but leaves with the lead, it's really score keeper discretion on who is credited with the win. Typically it will go to the first guy to replace the starter who holds the lead, but the keeper gave it to the guy who pitched the first full inning after the starter instead.
  13. Yeah, and Foster looks amazing. I almost wish they'd try to stretch Foster out and convert him. He has three MLB quality pitches.
  14. That bullpen if you pretend Colome isn't going to implode any second now is awesome. Burdi is the elite arm they thought he was; so crazy how he bounced back out of nowhere. Heuer has come together really nicely, Marshall is somehow a new man.
  15. haha after re watching this play a few times, he is already shading towards left but he does get all the way in front of where Eloy lined up so it's rather hilarious and maybe slightly egregious, but on the other plays this year he's just caught balls he should.
  16. I don't believe this is true; when you watch Kiermeir, Buxton, or any other great CF'er. They are going to cover the ground to get to any ball they can. You break off the bat before you even think about it, and you accelerate to the ball. Could he stop? I guess, but that's just not in the nature of a center fielder. If you can get there, you get there. We'll see the PO totals at years end in those two zones, but I don't think he'll have any higher catch rate there than other elite CF'ers.
  17. They've got a chance to be Beltre/Andrus level great playing next to each other trolling each other for a decade.
  18. I honestly don't understand why it has become a story that a CF'er is calling off his LF and RF for balls he can get to. That is the first thing you teach any young CF'er, if you can get there, you got it. The Sox comedy act with it is gold, but I don't get the announcers fixation with it. It's routine outfield work.
  19. Yeah, and I've said it before but he had no reason to change. He was embarrassing guys because guys would make enough mistakes every single game for him to dominate. I actually take it as a good thing because I never thought his plate discipline was because he was incapable of identifying pitches, or because he hated walking. He just could crush the ball being that aggressive so why change. I think at this level he's being embarrassed quite often in at bats and that embarrassment will lead to a change in his approach. We've literally already seen it game to game.
  20. he's always had great K/BB numbers. He was a fangraphs Fringe Five guy before because his plate discipline numbers are good, and he's pretty good at everything.
  21. It's maddening to see him committed 100% to first pitch. I know he's capable of identifying good and bad pitches - I've watched him spit on enough sliders in a 2 strike count already to know he identifies. He just thinks he can hit anything and everything and commits to swing regardless of location. He'll get embarrassed enough to change
  22. You see what happens when you work the count in your favor Luis?
  23. TiM sHoUlD hIt SeVeNtH! There's more to good at bats than drawing walks; Anderson knows how to hit and isn't an overly aggressive free swinger.
  24. He's had 35 PA's and he had no real spring training.
