  1. I'm sorry i understand the game and don't blame managers for relievers who are on the roster giving up home runs.
  2. Lol you're UPSET because Rick Renteria didn't replace Drew Anderson with Ross Detwiler.
  3. I forgot why i stopped reading game threads often. These are just a train wreck. The negativity and the complete nonsense is just mind boggling. People b****ing about the 2nd reliever put into a bullpen game during a stretch of 16 in 16 or whatever it is. Enjoy your weekend. Go sox.
  4. Anderson is bad. He's also on the roster. And the Sox can't pitch the same guys every single day. There's nothing confusing about this.
  5. Its a bullpen game... during a stretch where the team is playing like 16 games in 16 days, and they lost their best reliever to injury. I honestly have no idea what any of you think the manager should do. Drew Anderson is on the team. The bullpen is taxed and still has to pitch. Guys have to play. Stop blaming the manager for not treating the 3rd and 4th inning of a bhllpen game like its game 7 of a world series.
  6. What a fucking joke by grandal. Just as I said in the past, great framer but a complete shit receiver.
  7. So all the people saying McCann wouldn't have gotten strikes yesterday... he also wouldn't have allowed that past ball.
  8. I'm gonna do a dive into him tomorrow. Visual and statistical and see what I see. I'll write something about the conclusion thst no one but my family will read lol
  9. the Sox have something like 4 of 7 barrels that weren't hit for home runs jn the past 3 days lol. Leury, Collins, Eloy and can't think of 4th...
  10. I'm starting to think Adam Engel might have actually figured out how to hit at a decent rate. It's freaking me out.
  11. I feel like Deshields is so much smaller than he was early in his career.
  12. The one to Mazara was disgusting. Again, it came out on the same plane as the low fastball that same aB. The eye identifies the same pitch. Just because something is way low doesn't make it a bad pitch. I get why its frustrating sitting at home, but eye identified fastball because it came from the same point.
  13. Rob posted one today actually haha, sweet. those balls are traveling on the exact same plane from the exact same release point. If your brain identified fastball that's how you swing at a ball that bounces 3 feet in front of the plate.
  14. If the release point is the exact same, and you can't pick up the spin, that curveball was a fastball to him. That's the only way I can explain it. Usually arm angle or speed or etc is slightly different. Plesac has mastered the deception. Ill try and find the image.
  15. If you've seen plesacs overlay, without seeing the spin it might as well be impossible to figure out if he's throwing a fastball or curve which is why you saw a swing like mazara in the dirt.
  16. He has been attacked the same way since the season started. Nothing has changed really. This is how guys like Robert run - at this age, hot is going to be scorching and cold is going to be dry ice. He's hyper aggressive hitter who has swing and miss on pitches in the zone still.
  17. Killing him down and away and up and in. Gotta lay off..I've seen him spit on plenty of good sliders when he's going good so he can do it. Another reason he should not lead off at this point of his career.
  18. Had nothing to do with Jerry- this wAS a shakeup from the top of NBC corporate. They cut a ton of people nation wide from their sports broadcasting.
  19. if it's a bicep strain it might as well have been a super intense cramp ha; good news all around if it is just a bicep strain.
  20. In the modern game, there may be nothing more overrated about leading off than working counts. Guys just don't throw their entire arsenal the first time through the order anymore so you're only seeing the same 2ish pitches over and over again. OBP and run scoring skills are really all that matter at this point in time. If TA can maintain a high BA which puts his OBP north of 350 he's a very good option to lead off. Moncada is going to work counts in the 2 hole.
  21. No one should be aggressive this year; would be idiotic.
  22. Actually wrote about this today: https://www.ecopolibbling.com/post/the-1-spot-is-reserved-for-7 "It’s nothing against Robert - who is a generational talent and the most exciting young player I have had the privilege to watch in my 33 years on this planet – as much as it’s a testament to all the hard work Tim Anderson has put in since he was an unpolished slightly bowlegged state champion point guard from Alabama, who played short stop in his spare time." I think Anderson is the clear choice despite people's constant doubt. As long as he's dropping .350+ OBP I'm good with Tim doing the job. I'd even take a 340ish sink.
  23. 4k's for Robert yesterday with more swinging strikes than Anderson had for entire months last year. Robert is going to be unstoppable but he's gotta figure some things out to be complete.
