  1. Lol what's wrong with this picture? https://ibb.co/nM9vvtQ Looks like a guy just enjoying a football game with his significant other.
  2. Ding ding ding. Throwing 100 in high school is not a good thing for your health.
  3. He didn't post any videos to instagram from camp so he's not there.
  4. Another "fake" winner the media plays up with irresponsible stories. A couple points: 1. No one betting 3+ team parlays - in this case 10 team parlays - is a successful gambler. He may have gotten lucky and hit a couple big ones, but once you get past 3 team parlays the hold becomes so much that you can't overcome it. You are better off betting every game individually - that is a much more profitable endeavor in the long run, and is just one example that this kid is a loser. 2. No true winner in that world is public about their endeavors and successes; even the ones you hear about are after years and years of being originators and market setters; not after a couple years betting big and shitty parlays. Once you speak up, you are at risk of giving up the small edge you found. 3. The media constantly cites players "winnings" without accounting for any losses. This kid became famous because Darren Rovell wrote about him constantly. Rovell was basically a walking mouth piece/hype man for the guy without knowing it. All of these guys who look for public attention beating that market are full of shit. 4. If you are a legit originator/market setter, you have been booted/kicked out of 99% of sportsbooks and are forced to use beards to place wagers for you and etc. You do not go out in public talking about how great you are. 5. If you are very very good at this, you're looking at a 3-5% ROI over millions and millions wagered; you are not winning 30-40-50% like all these fake clowns claim. The sportsbetting market has a lower ROI than the stock market/investment world because of all the hoops above; the only people modeling and beating that market do it because they enjoy it, and they enjoy the challenge. If you can model to beat that market you can model to beat any market. This kid is a fake clown that Darren Rovell played up - likely the kid of some rich people - and got national attention and then harassed and threatened people giving gambling a bad name... Fuck him and Fuck Darren Rovell. Having been in that world for a few years out of college, there are a ton of scumbags and scammers everywhere; poker and sports betting wise. People who sell picks are criminals and should be treated as such as well.
  5. What is happening? Has it been so long since the Sox competed that people have forgotten how to act and are being serious when talking concern about 18 ST AB's?
  6. Funny thing is it probably shows why the White Sox shouldn't be spending 1st round picks on a reliever.
  7. Heuer a really really nice find by the White Sox.
  8. I didn't see it, but his speed is just amazing from the right side. Guy has the speed of an elite slap hitter with the power of a 40 home run hitter.
  9. Why does it matter if they get work in on the mound or in the bullpen?
  10. I know this is said every time, but some guys really still have no idea what the point of ST is for a veteran. In this thread alone, we have guys talking about the batting order again (LOL), Moncada "Struggling" and etc. None of this stuff matters and no one has any idea what Moncada's goal and approach of spring is. Spring is about getting timing too.
  11. Yet high school pitchers are the most volatility and risky prospects in the game and it's not close.
  12. I've seen plenty of sharp teams not waste endless amounts of money on Chatwood, Heyward, and Darvish. Those were three terrible signings.
  13. What? So the Cubs don't give a bad contract to Heyward if they don't give a good contract to Lester? What in the world.....? No where does it say if you give good contracts, you're required to give bad 100+ million dollar contracts.
  14. Yeah, I'd say the injury rate is damn near 100%. I still remember when the Marlins took Kolek. Aiken 1 and Kolek 2. Two picks that show you how risky a high school starter is that early. In a draft that had Rodon (hurt as well, but at least made it), Schwarber, Turner, Conforto and Nola.
  15. He's been battling shoulder and elbow issues for 2 years now. Maybe this will heal all and he'll come back as good as ever. He'll be 31 soon and 32 the next day he steps on the field to pitch. He's not getting any younger.
  16. Sale is done; sad to see it. Always will like the guy and root for his dominance. His arm is broken it seems though; he wasn't even going anywhere near 100% and now they're seeking 3rd opinions which most definitely means the MRI was very bad. You don't seek third opinions to confirm good news.
  17. Jake has now retired; sad to hear it. Thanks for the insider look in Jake Burger's mind chitown.
  18. Jack, I'm just busting your chops. I know you like those guys a lot.
  19. This is a really interesting deal. Yelich was already signed thru 31. The brewers didnt need to extend him because they're not buying out any years. They are basically guaranteeing him big money for 31/32-37. I love it even if it's not really a bargain for the brewers at all. After an off season of the brewers crying poor and not supporting their on field product - letting a star walk - despite back to back winning years, they finally invest heavily at market value in a star. Even if he was already signed this year, good on them for investing in their on field product.
  20. Robert is nothing like Tim Anderson; he will take his walks if he doesn't get what he wants. He won't run 10+% walk rates, but it'll be around league average I think.
  21. He just threw a flat one followed by two filthy ones; but the slider looks better in general. I'd like to see some in the zone swing and misses, but in time that will happen if he maintains the break.
  22. I really enjoy Collins ability to work at bats, and that fact that he rarely chases bad pitches. Now if he can pair that strike zone knowledge with a personal understanding of pitches he best drives (and attack those more) he could really become a nice piece.
