Sox In on Lindor? Crackpot Rumor?
Look at Ray Ray Run replied to Moan4Yoan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Gio. Wilbon knows so little about baseball and never pays attention so he probably thinks its 2012 gio gonzalez. -
White Sox sign Cheslor Cuthbert to minor league deal

Yeah, last year was really good - even better. Problem is I dont think hes talented/athletic enough or a good enough defender to play the OF for them so theres really no use for him. -
Sox In on Lindor? Crackpot Rumor?

Maybe it would cost that, but giving up Anderson, Madrigal + another piece for Lindor would be a complete rape. Anderson surplus value alone probably worth more than lindors for the rest of his control. -

Soxtalk: why do people make fake and post fake baseball rumors?!?! Its so dumb. Soxtalk: *4 pages discussing a fake Lindor to white sox rumor* -
Can you blame the guy? Somehow he was coming of a 2.2 WAR season and 5.5+ WAR 2 season outlook and he said he got ONE single MLB offer last off season. That's crazy.
-
Not sure I'd assume this. The Sox targeted both - I imagine the front office has the final say so who they chose to target first was more indicative of their position than grandals.
-
Yeah, they clearly asked grandal for his thoughts on pitching and I'd be shocked if they signed Gio without a glowing endorsement from Grandal.
-
Yeah, gio fired boras.
-
Dont think for one second that this didnt have something to do with grandals opinion if him last year in Milwaukee
-
I'm sure you've caught up on the thread but I had thought gio had been much worse than he actually was. I like the move after seeing that.
-
Yeah, 9 million is crazy. Makes Nova 9 million look fine. If Gio got under that (which I'd guess he did) the sox did real well.
-
If he got less than 9 million, after Tehearan bum ass got 9 million, it's a hell of a steal. I would guess he got like 4-5 million too.

Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal · 54s Free-agent right-hander Julio Teheran in agreement with #Angels on one-year, $9M contract, source tells The Athletic. Pending physical. First with agreement: @JeffPassan Holy shit, thank god we didn't sign that deadbeat to a 9m Deal.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Some of you are so miserable it's tough to read.
-
LOL why would the White Sox trade for Lindor?
-
Yeah, amazing what statistics can do to change a persons mind. Didn't like the signing at all when I read it, but then dug into Gio and realized that my opinion of his performance the past two years was wrong and misguided. He's not going to get you deep into games, but he still gets some swings and misses and is still a productive big league arm.
-
His FIP's the last three years: 4.04, 4.16, 3.93. He's actually fine as the second acquisition. I would have preferred a higher ceiling younger guy, but I get banking on the safer veteran to fill a hole for a few months.
-
hahah I was literally about to post the exact same thing. His numbers the past two years are WAY better than I remembered. In my mind he pitched 5 games for the Yankees and gave up 50 runs. In reality, he pitched zero games for them lol and was actually solid in Milw.

Soxmachine tweets out something negative about every single minor league signing. That place is such a cancer. -

He can hit lefties. -
This is a move I really don't like for the 2nd starter spot, but in reality it's probably not much worse or better than any of the other bums.

Offseason 2019-2020 MLB Catch All Thread
Look at Ray Ray Run replied to iWiN4PreP's topic in The Diamond Club
The Yankees have been targeting Cole since he was 18 years old. He was brian Cashmans favorite pitching prospect in the entirety of his career. Cole was his most sought after player. I agree with your premise but dont really think the sox have a comparable situation. Cashman was obsessed with cole. -

Pal, the white sox were mentioned nowhere in the Heyman tweet yet the entire comment chain was taken over by sox fans ripping the organization. As someone who uses twitter to solely follow baseball news I can tell you every fan base is not the same. The rangers, or example, have gotten destroyed on twitter but those attacks are centralized on tweets naming the rangers or on ranger beat writers. You dont see 1000 ranger fans attacking national tweets that arent about the rangers. You dont see ranger fans flooding a player like delmonico's twitter/instagram blasting him as a person and etc. Sox twitter, at this point in time, is the most toxic fanbase on baseball twitter. Sox fans arent crying about missing out on wheeler. They're crying every single time any player signs with any team. They cried about a minor league signing for god sakes. Also, I dont care if you dont reply to what I say. Was that supposed to be some shot at me? Sorry, I'm not on the edge of my seat waiting for your thoughts. Hopefully I'll do better in the future to make you like me more lol -

That twitter chain just shows how miserable White Sox fans are. On twitter, they honestly appear to be the most miserable group of fans in professional sports and it's nauseating to read. -
Detwiler back on a minor league deal
Look at Ray Ray Run replied to Sockin's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I doubt the #1 driver of veteran minor league contracts is performance. Maybe they like how he works? His messaging to younger pitchers? I'm not gonna waste my energy judging a minor league filler signing.
