  1. He's not going to be able to be a regular at third anytime in the next 5 years. Could have something to do with it.
  2. For my money, the best sitcom ever made. And Tobias it's best character.
  3. I'm not saying he needs to be up right now, but he already strikes me as a guy who, like Moncada, is flat out too talented for the Minor Leagues and will do the lion's share of his development in the Major Leagues. If he crushes AA, and I understand that he still needs to show he'll do this, I want him up taking his knocks against major league pitching to get him over his hump, because there is going to be a hump.
  4. A lot. And it's not worth discussing.
  5. There isn't some set AB threshold a guy needs to hit to be considered ready. Some guys are there faster. Soto had < 500 at bats. Acuna < 900. Some guys need 2000 at-bats. Robert is absolutely the type of talent that could kill the minors and not need to rack up a thousand at-bats.
  6. I don't think the cost is crazy high, A rotation of Stroman/Rodon/Cease/Kopech/Lopez(Giolito) could get something done in this division, and I would very much enjoy being that team. I say no reason not to inquire. I'd be a lot more confident in that rotation than one that just won a division anchored by...checks notes...Wade Miley?
  7. Yeah, I'm perfectly content with weeding guys out this way. It's probably on the Sox too though that more guys don't get over the hump
  8. Anderson is now officially the first Sox middle infielder to finish a month with > 1.000 OPS since Jose Valentin in 2004
  9. Agreed, we may not see next year as the year to things turn on, but I bet the Sox do.
  10. I wonder what this does to the mid season prospect rankings? Is it enough to finally have him shoot up the board?
  11. I agree, but if this is anything remotely serious, he might be cooked.
  12. I have my concerns about Adolfo because of this
  13. If Abreu was aware of the guy in front of him, he would not have passed him. Something that should be done 100% of the time. Not 90% of the time, or 99% percent of the time. Literally, every ball hit from now until the end of time.
  14. But we're not discussing whether tim tagging was a mistake, were discussing who that extra out is on and it is always on the trail runner. If we were you'd have a point, but we're not.
  15. Lineup protection is 95% myth anyway
  16. I don't think I need to see him in Charlotte at all with those balls tbh. Give him a nice run in Birmingham and if he rakes, I don't see the need for AAA.
  17. Please, please, please keep torching baseballs and not hit the birmingham brick wall. We've entered the Robert to Chicago in '19 realm of possibility.
  18. Yolmer is project for 1.2 fWAR and Machado is projected for 4.3 so this isn't quite true. Machado being 5 wins better requires Machado be at his best or Yolmer be at his worst.
  19. Unless Manny has a mean fastball/slider combo, they're record is probably about the same as it would be with him.
  20. So at the end of the first month, the sox are more or less where I'd hoped they'd be minus a a handful. Really only whiffed on how solid I thought the bullpen was.
  21. Worry about that when/if the time comes.
  22. Competing for a division is competing for a World Series. The two are no different.
  23. I would be ecstatic if you told me McCann put up a wRC+ over 90 before the year started.
