  1. The whole grocery store workers are sacrificing so the players should sacrifice too thing only makes sense if their pay cuts were going to those workers and not under Jerry’s diving board.
  2. To quote Jerry Reinsdorf in the Last Dance: As soon as you sign this, I don’t want to hear from you again.
  3. I wonder if these are the same people that made a stink after falling for 4chan shitposts about kids eating ride pods
  4. I get wanting to restart, I really do. I want to as well but I have yet to see one person cry for the country to reopen provide a HOW. What is the plan? This just proves that they don't have one.
  5. Notice how every interview is something along the lines of 'I should be able to buy such and such' and not 'I want to go back to my job where I interact with hundreds of people a day'
  6. The thing that drives me nuts about these people is that we all, including most trump people, have made and will continue to make pretty incredible sacrifices for the well being of all of us and it's all going to be for not because of a group of paid protesters and the terminally stupid.
  7. My assumption is that the effect on us is gas gets super duper cheap for us, (it was already $0.98 in bumblefuck Michigan yesterday), it stops getting produced and as things ramp back up gas prices explode. Not to mention where we start to see real supply chain issues.
  8. "Millionaires to reap 80% of benefit from tax change" is evergreen. The second part is just ad-lib
  9. I'm certainly not handing out medals for our governments response, but people would absolutely not have accepted a stay at home two weeks prior.
  10. This whole “when will the government open the economy” is the wrong question. You can open restaurants all you want. A lot of people (most?) still won’t be going. The question we should be asking is how to we make it safe enough for people to be comfortable going out.
  11. How has it taken this long for a reporter to put his feet to the flame
  12. And what antibiotics are used for
  13. Oh for sure. I was losing it like end of February and my parents were laughing at me. I called my mom at one point to offer to pick my sister up from school in Alabama because the school I went to shut down the day before sports shut down and they told me to relax. Day after sports shut down they drove to Alabama and back.
  14. Problem with looking at deaths is that those numbers are already baked into to data from a few days ago. New hospitalizations is the most telling number imo
  15. Instill a false sense of security for short term economic results? Not sure I'd exactly call that non-corrupt but that's my thought process
  16. I think it's a necessity, but I worry about not being able to monitor those people well enough to prevent an explosion of cases.
  17. I can't decide if this is good news or jumping the gun at the first signs of a positive trend
  18. Almost felt inevitable since the news that he had it first came out. Really sucks, one of the all time greats.
  19. I don't think there's a group I have less concern for than commercial renters. Maybe the cruise lines?
  20. It's so frustrating how little we still know about this thing.
  21. Cook County Jail is a really shitty, rock and hard place situation. Either you just let it continue to rip through there or release people and run the risk of having them spread the shit out of it. There really isn't a comfortable answer.
  22. Moving forward with the election is a problem. Going from 180 locations to 5 is unconscionable.
  23. Let me clarify by saying that I'm sure I'll be perfectly content. It will just be a SIGNIFICANTLY more casual situation. This situation/proposal strips back just about everything that makes the Sox more than any other baseball team to me.
