We're not going to forget that World Series was spent on the couch scratching our balls instead of with our friends, parents, significant others. The memories I have from '05 are just as much if not more tied to the people I shared it with than the games themselves. I think there is functionally no difference between not having a world series and having a virtual world series that everyone watches by themselves on their couch.
