  1. If this team is to complete this year they need power from Robert, Eloy and Vaughn period. And if they get that Benintendi will compliment that nicely. Not to mention Benintendi can absolutely pop off 16 or 17 home runs which would've topped the ballclub last year. Gallo himself only hit 19.
  2. Adam Frazier to Baltimore. 1 year 8 million. So there's that.....
  3. He is. And when that works fine. But when it doesn't......well here we are.
  4. Like I said excessive celebration is part of the game now like it or not. And I think in cases like bat flips it has less to do with excitement than it does arrogance. It's why I loved Frank Thomas compared to Sammy Sosa. One hopped around like a fool, the other put his head down and circled the bases. Whoever said the opinions here are more related to the age of the fan was on track. It's part of the game now so I can tolerate it and not be a huge fan of it. It's really the least of my problems with TA.
  5. That's fair. Most of them don't get blasted on social media though. That and the fact that his play seemed to be effected by it made it more relevant to fans. In conjunction with this he lost me when he flipped off fans in Cleveland. That coupled with his seemingly apathetic approach this past season is what turned me off. The bat flipping is what it is. Like or not it's part of the game now. People not to stop with the race crap. He's done enough dumb garbage for some fans to be turned off by his character.
  6. Liam celebrating a save he almost blew in an outrageous fashion ist just as annoying as a mid-game early season TA bat flip.
  7. I asked how often not who were the last ones.
  8. Fair. But how many players do we already have whom we hope return to career norms? Grandal? Moncada? Giolito? Robert and eloy staying healthy. Now add another we "hope" gets back to normal. Why not get a Nimmo or Benintendi who are still playing solid ball? If that meant relying on Sosa and a veteran crapshoot at 2nd fine. I'd rather one of those 2 outfielders than signing multiple reclamation projects.
  9. Why is there this thought that Gallo will come to the White Sox and get better? How often do players come here and improve?
  10. Nobody needs a ballplayer that hit .160 last year. And Benintendi is more capable of hitting 19 home runs, Gallo's number last year, than Gallo is of batting .200. Putting the ball in play routinely, with success, still has value. I agree the ballclub needs more home runs but they absolutely do not need to settle for yet another player that needs a massive rebound year. That's the whole lineup already. They are choosing to settle and that's why it's frustrating.
  11. The fact that there are fans okay with this potential signing shows how low we've sunk.
  12. Please No Gallo.......good lord do we just settle for garbage here.
  13. I love that it seems there are few, if any, fans left who buy a single thing Hahn says. He'd be better off just keeping his mouth shut at this point.
  14. A new team to follow.....sorry I'm very down on everything unfolding lately.
  15. Has it been covered yet that the Sox are signing a pitcher with a funky, extended delivery the same year where a pitch clock is being enforced?
  16. Hard pass on Gallo. Nimmo and Conforto will be too expensive. And someone will outbid us on Benintendi.
  17. Maybe we can ask them about it at Soxfest.
  18. I wouldve liked to hear if he had talked to any players yet. I know lynn chatted with him but any talk to TA or any others? He seems like a good dude. Will give him the benefit of the doubt.
  19. I'd be fine with it. Ozzie's attention span is short. From 04 to 08 he was a great manager and then garbage after that. I think it'd be the same this time. A few years where he's invested then move on. Outside of this board most Sox fans I know would love ozzie coming back. I get the skepticism and I'd like to see a fresh start but he would be a nice kick in the ass for this group.
  20. Frank always seemed very committed to putting up excellent numbers and performing at a high level. Perhaps that gave him an arrogance that rubbed some teammates the wrong way. I, for one, wish any of our current players had that in them. Maybe TA at times. However in the multiple opportunities I've had to meet Frank, seen him interact with fans, and seen how he has tipped and rewarded support staff around him, he's been nothing less than a class act. I'll let this one pass the eye test and leave the gossip alone.
  21. They're going to talk to Long on mlb network in a few minutes about tonight's game. For anyone interested in getting a feel for the guy.
