  1. I sat in my car to listen to the end of it. It wasn't mean spirited. Just an accurate evaluation of the player.
  2. I'm going to listen to it again before I go to sleep tonight.
  3. That was fun. Please don't expand the playoffs.
  4. 22:$16M club option ($1M buyout) 2022 option is guaranteed 1) with 110 games finished in 2021-22 combined, including 55 GF in 2021, and 2) if Kimbrel does not suffer a non-temporary injury
  5. Wow the Cubs are getting PCA in the Baez deal. Minus the Kimbrel deal Hoyer is doing a good job this deadline.
  6. Kimbrel has more saves than hits allowed. That's an incredible stat. He's been one of if not the most dominating pitcher of his era.
  7. He's also a little turd. Hoping some of the stories start coming out.
  8. Yep. Nico can play CF or SS in a pinch but you don't want him playing either for an extended period. I wonder if they see him as a Ben Zobrist type.
  9. I don't think he will convert to a starter with the White Sox but I think he can with another team especially a rebuilding team like the Cubs who will have no problem keeping him in the minors for a couple years.
  10. Correct so they make sure he doesn't reach 55 games finished and they pay him a $1M buyout.
  11. It's a vesting option. He has to finish 55 games this year or he gets a $1M buyout. He's currently at 35. The weird '20 season may have automatically triggered the option but I think we would have heard that.
  12. because next year when they expand the playoffs this won't happen.
  13. When I saw Crick was released I thought to myself this is the type of guy they should go after but they never do. Crick has good shit and has performed well in the not too distant past. Relievers are volitile. One small adjustment and he could be a guy that catches fire for a couple months. This is the type of no risk move they need to make often.
  14. When the boogeyman goes to sleep he checks under the bed for AJ Preller.
  15. They weren't trading for Escobar. They think he's playing thru an injury. This is the only shot they have to acquire a 2B. There is no more waiver wire deadline. If he blows out and misses a month they're fucked. Yes any player can get injured but a guy who is already injured is much more likely to get injured (thanks cap'n obvious). Why take that risk when they can acquire a similar player with a clean bill of health.
  16. I watch a decent amount of Cubs game and I never heard of this guy before a couple days ago. It's impossible to keep up with the gazillion relievers teams run out these days. I just hope he works fast and throws strikes.
  17. The guys Cleveland have had success with are either super athletes (Bieber, Plesac, Civale, Mckenzie) or have hellacious shit (Karnachak, Clase) and Pilkington is neither of those. His ceiling is a cheap back of the rotation guy on a rebuilding team. He has no future with the Sox.
  18. This isn't the big swing I was anticipating but Hernandez is a fine move and I couldn't care less about Konnor Pilkington. If this is the market for solid players I hope they're also looking to bring in an OF.
