There's more to athleticism than being able to run in a straight line. Body control and agility are huge parts of athleticism and Eloy is severely lacking in both. Like he has none.
It's fair becuase he's just playing left field. All he has to do is wait for the ball to stop rolling, pick it up and throw it in. (Literally) staying alive for his next at bat is the most important thing he can do on defense.
