I think the game plan is to stay away from his slider. -
Pint retired today. Always fear the physically maxed out high schooler with "now" stuff.

He's taking his lumps but you don't have to feel bad for him. This is the first time he's ever failed in his baseball life and he's going to come out of it an even better player. He's a superstar. -
Because Manfred is a F'ing Idiot. He gave pitchers a free pass while they "collected the data" so they all went crazy doctoring the ball. Now that the problem is out of control they have to step in midseason to try to put a stop to it. It's going to be real interesting to see how they suspend 90% of the pitchers. Do they go alphabetical or by divisions?

Did not know Kannapolis is 3-22. Yikes. They could use a week of rain outs.
-
Agreed. I think this is going to be a three player draft for them. I think they're going to try and push a couple dudes down to the 2nd and 3rd rounds and then grab money savers from 4-10.

It's pretty evident now the number one factor in Crochet's development as a starting pitcher was to save a couple million dollars on a left handed reliever.
-
I've heard a couple prep pitcher names in the later rounds but not a lot on 1st round guys. I think they'll take a college arm if one falls to them but it looks like their focus at the top is on HS hitters with power.

I watched a couple of his AB's yesterday and think his hand set is too high. He collapses his backside and the swing path gets too uphill. I think lowering his hands will get him on more on plane and will greatly improve his contact rate.

Teams are becoming more and more risk averse at the top of the draft and hitters are seen as much safer picks. In my world Leiter is the best player in this draft and it's not particularly close.
-
I agree. If he can't locate his fastball big league hitters are going to spit on the slider. His cutter looks like it could be an above avg pitch and he threw a couple decent changes but it won't be enough to get him thru the lineup more than once if can't consistently throw the fastball for strikes. He has huge reliever risk.
-
Rocker had his worst start of the season tonight. Couldn't get out of the 4th. He couldn't spot his fastball and threw a ton of off speed stuff. Ha. I was just going post the same thing.

Thank you. That's a little disappointing. I was hoping he would be more insightful than that.

Keith Law mock. Come on people lets get our priorities straight.
