  1. Every pitcher is an injury waiting to happen.
  2. The Padres had to trade some of their depth because between losing an affiliate and talk about MLB limiting teams to one complex team these guys would have no where to play. Better to get value from them now.
  3. That is the case with the middle reliever market so why target older guys who are coming off an injury (Yates, Herrera) or are clearly on the decline (Cishek)? They have to target the guy who they think is ready to go on a 2-3 year run of above average pitching and not the guy coming off that run (Hendriks?). To me that guy is Archie Bradley. He's young, big ,strong, he has stuff, pedigree and closing experience. He has a very good chance to be a difference maker.
  4. What's with the Kirby Yates love? He's 34 years old coming off a horrible season and elbow surgery which is not a coincidence because he throws a splitter and he was overused during the previous 3 seasons. There's a good chance that dude is toast.
  5. Abrams has a really good chance to be the best prospect in baseball a year from now.
  6. Paddock feels like a guy who would be part of this trade.
  7. The Padres have not traded away everyone. They have held onto the guys they feel will be impact big leaguers. Gore, Abrams, Campusano, Head, Weathers, and Hassell are still there. The Padres are very good at self scouting and are not afraid to trade the guys they feel will not help them at the big league level.
  8. I love AJ Preller. Everyone in baseball is so scared to make moves and this guy gives zero fucks. He just wants to improve his team and win. Baseball needs more competitive guys like him.
  9. Longenhagen had Kyle Lewis as a 45. We have stop using him as an appeal to authority. We know more than enough about Madrigal to be able to make our own evaluations.
  10. Huh. The Nats gave up Will Crowe. Probably a better deal than giving him up for 1 year of Bryant.
  11. I would keep Pace. He's done a lot of good things and deserves a chance to see it thru. I would fire Nagy. I loved the hire and really wanted him to succeed but his stubbornness sabotaged the season and that's a fireable offense. I would bring back Mitch and hire a coach who actually likes him and is willing to run an offense that makes him better. I think it would set them back too far to find a new QB. They need to acquire two new tackles thru the draft and free agency and shore up the D line. This team is close.
  12. For this signing period. https://www.fangraphs.com/prospects/the-board/international-players/summary?sort=-1,1&type=0
  13. Logenhagen has Cespedes ranked 39th? Is that right? Yikes
