  1. Gotta love putting your rookie with literally zero pro experience in all these lose/lose situations.
  2. That is so incredibly stupid. That is not what video replay was designed for.
  3. Bachman might be the most interesting player in the draft. It is so ugly and he does so many things wrong but what comes out of his hand is unbelievable. This will be a goood test to see if teams are getting less concerned about what happens in back and only interested in what happens out front because this dude is horrible in back and incredible out front.
  4. It's also ridiculous to compare other draft classes because the baseball draft is not like the football or basketball drafts. The best players aren't always taken in order because money plays such a huge role on who is taken where. For example the Cubs took Kyle Schwarber with the 4th pick and signed him for $3.125M while the Sox took Nick Madrigal and signed him for $6.1M. Factoring in the money spent greatly changes the calculus for those picks.
  5. D'Backs were set to take him too but they switched to Barrett Loux. It got the scouting director fired.
  6. They missed the second they took a no ceiling 2B only with the 4th pick. They wasted a rare opportunity to draft a high ceiling superstar for an avg run of the mill player.
  7. Yes. Rocker has been trending down his last 3-4 starts.
  8. Weird night for Rocker. He's sitting 91-93 and gave up a 3 run jack in the 1st. The next 5 innings he gave up 1 hit and struck out 12. He's throwing his slider a lot. His fastball and fastball command has not been good lately. Right now I have him behind Hogland and maybe Madden. He just gave up another tater.
  9. Getting Lynn was so huge for this team. The hitters know it's win day when he's on the mound.
  10. They used the 4th pick on a player other teams get in the 4th round. League average 2B are easy to find.
  11. His hands and wrists are too weak. Sure he could add some strength there but it won't be nearly enough to produce any significant power. He is what he is. A low impact player.
  12. It's no different than keeping a starter in so he qualifies for a meaningless "win." Managing to a stat is always stupid.
  13. They're unavailable 5 days a week because when they do pitch they go multiple inngs and need 2-3 days rest or they're not being used on back to back days. Sure makes it difficult trying to run a bullpen when you have to baby two arms.
  14. It makes winning baseball games really tough when two relievers are unavailable 5 days a week. Sure it looks great on the days when they can pitch but the other days are going to be a matchup nightmare.
  15. This is why it's really dumb to have two pitchers you're trying to develop sitting in the big league bullpen.
  16. Those questions are answered in the minor leagues. You can't answer them pitching twice a week in the big league bullpen.
  17. Longenhagen had him as a 70 runner. 70. And he claims to have watched him live. The hell was he lookin at.
