  1. It's officail. Awesome. The NL east is going to be a dog fight. The only division without a team actively trying to lose.
  2. It's really a great fit. It's easy making a bad team good but it's very difficult making a good team great. Dombrowski has a long history of making good teams great. I think that trend continues in Philly.
  3. You know he can't wait to get in on this off season. I bet he's got deals he'd like to make lined up already.
  4. That's huge for the Phillies. Looks like the Owner was honest when he said they're not trading Wheeler.
  5. That's what makes it so interesting. Teams have so little to go on it would be surprising to see someone use a 40 man spot for a pop up guy like McClure. You would think they're going to pick guys who they have a longer history on. We'll see.
  6. This has a chance to actually be interesting. There are some famous guys who are available (well famous if you're a baseball dork). I'm really interested to see if a team takes Riley Pint. I would be surprised if the Sox take a player or get a player selected.
  7. I think the team that signs him understands they're signing him for his defense and leadership first. Whatever he gives offensively is gravy.
  8. He would have jumped at that now he's going to get twice that much.
  9. Resigning him woud have been all about his catching. Hahn obviously didn't see the staff reacting so negatively to Grandal even though it was all out there.
  10. They easily could have signed him. He wanted to stay and be part of a winner. Hahn made his bed now he has to lie in it.
  11. Seattle has some big time impact prospects ready to hit. Realmuto would be a great for them. That team is going to pop.
  12. Until they make some rule changes that's the way the game is being played today.
  13. Pederson can produce runs on his own while Eaton needs someone to knock him in and I don't subscribe to the theory that they have enough good hitters so they can sacrifice one of the biggest run producing positions on the field. I don't know if Pederson will have a higher WAR and I honestly don't care. I don't think WAR is the gospel of determining the value of baseball players.
  14. Pederson is a left handed middle of the order bat who can knock the ball out of the yard. That's a big difference in terms of production.
  15. The problem is he's not a right fielder. He doesn't profile there and he doesn't fit in the lineup. It's an awful signing especially considering all the other right fielders on the market. Why is it so hard for this organization to find a god damn prototypical right fielder.
  16. Teflon Rick lives on. There's a piece to all this that is missing. I hope it comes out one day.
  17. They wanted Vaughn and Dunning. Texas has wanted Dunning since the Nats drafted him one pick ahead of them. I was hoping they would come off him but they were adamant. Oh well. You gotta give to get.
  18. The best thing they can do for the pitching staff is bring McCann back.
  19. How many bad contracts have to be handed out to closers before they realize it's a really bad idea.
  20. No they're not. Use that money saved in RF to bring McCann back.
