  1. What a great interview. He's such a great fit for this team. No nonsense guy who just wants the ball and compete. The young guys on this team are going to learn a lot from him.
  2. Being absolutely thrilled about this trade seems so long ago.
  3. They signed a right fielder to hit god damn 8th. Right field is supposed to be a power position but they have 2 slap dicks at the bottom of the order. There were SO many better options. What the fuck.
  4. The only good explanation is if this frees them up to spend money to bring in someone big but it doesn't sound like they're going after the right guy. This sucks.
  5. That's a featherweight fight I'd pay good money to watch.
  6. I don't like this. I'm going to need a very good explanation for it.
  7. Williams has had a weird career arc. I get the Pittsburgh reclamation guy idea and if they see something they think can be tinkered they should bring him in but just as a lottery ticket. He can't be the guy they're counting on to plop in the back of the rotation and get quality innings from.
  8. This trade sets them up to go in a bunch of different directions. I like Paxton but I'm hoping for Richards. Either would make it an excellent rotation.
  9. He lives downstate. I'm really hoping he wants to finish his career close(er) to home.
  10. If they're lucky! The most likely scenario is they will have to fold up the franchise. Oh well it was a good run.
  11. The captivation with team control is getting out of control.
  12. This is a great trade. Lynn is a Hoss. I was really hoping they didn't have to give up Dunning but you have to give to get. The Sox are a much better team today than they were yesterday. Now get to work on that extension.
  13. If I'm trading with the Sox he's the starter I'm asking for.
  14. You also stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
  15. They're never that desparate to expose a prospect who was clearly not ready. They could have done a bullpen game or started Flores, Lopez or some other bum in Schaumburg. The FO made a horrible decision and it's going to hurt them this off season.
  16. That's what he always was before that crazy jump he made last year. Like I said in the other thread it makes no sense that they exposed him this year knowing his stuff was that far down. They destroyed his value.
  17. Couldn't agree more. I wouldn't give him away but if someone offers fair value I'm cutting bait. I don't want to be the one holding the bag when his next "thing" pops up and the trend shows something will pop up. If he defeats his demons and turns into an ace more power to him but I'm not getting burned again.
  18. This might be true but it's a terrible strategy. Trading prospects right now in this environment just doesn't make any sense. I disagree. They can trade the prospects they don't see being impact players before they lose their value. Stiever is an excellent example of this.
