  1. If he needs a pitch to set up a 95+ fastball that should tell you all you need to know.
  2. That's an issue. He lacks concentration. He has short stints where he gets locked in but loses it quickly and gets knocked around. I get they tendered him today because he's cheap but I'm hoping they use him in a trade as a throw. I'm tired of his act.
  3. Lopez needs a lot more than just a curveball. His fastball is flat and he can't command it. Can't pitch in the big leagues if you don't command the fastball.
  4. It absolutely astounds me how so many think college stats translate to the professional game. They're completely different games. Tools translate. Stats do not.
  5. Forgot about that one. That was a nasty tasting burger.
  6. Floor is the McLean Deluxe. Ceiling is the Big N' Tasty.
  7. 68 per team. That's down 8 games from what those teams played as affilliates. My question is who fills in when/if players are drafted? College Freshman and Sophomores are playing in the new league formed with old Appy league teams.
  8. It will be comprised of teams from the old NY-Penn league. Mahoning Valley, Trenton, Williamsport, State College and West Virginia. Another unnamed team will be added. Yes it's a wood bat league and any draft eligible player can participate. Graduating HS seniors, college Jr's and sr's and JC's. Too many changes going on at the same time so they're bound to F it up.
  9. That played a part but it was the pitching injuries that made them change gears so quickly. Here is an article from last year highlighting just how many TJ's they've had and there have been many more since this was written. https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/rangers/2019/05/02/rangers-claim-unofficial-lead-in-unflattering-statistic-involving-tommy-john-surgeries/
  10. The Rangers started drafting college hitters because they had an incredible amount of HS pitchers go down with TJ. They need pitching, pitching and more pitching.
  11. Agents already saying they won't send their top guys. It will be a 2nd tier league.
  12. That's a good one. The cavalier use of the word elite is mine.
  13. Riley Pint is rule 5 eigible. Remember when he was considered the most major league ready HS player (there's no such thing).
  14. It's great when the jokes write themselves.
  15. I'd like a nickel for every post that starts I didn't like the hire but......
  16. That's a no brainer for the Sox which is exactly why the Cubs wouldn't do it.
  17. It would be tough to explain to any fan.
  18. Seems he would fit that Gio Gonzalez swing role pretty well and if he's finally able to put together a string of consistent starts in his walk year that would be a nice added bonus.
  19. I'll be realy surprised if he's not on the team next year.
