  1. For this signing period. https://www.fangraphs.com/prospects/the-board/international-players/summary?sort=-1,1&type=0
  2. Logenhagen has Cespedes ranked 39th? Is that right? Yikes
  3. Craig Breslow is an asst GM with the Cubs. Another organization hired an ex player in the FO too. I think it was the Mariners.
  4. It's the players game. The ivy leaguers tried their damndest to push them out but they're gonna make their way back in and not only in the FO but in player development too. It can't happen soon enough.
  5. First Chris Young now Sam Fuld. This is where baseball is heading. They finally figured out that having non-baseball people making basball decisions is a bad thing. Baseball people who also understand analytics and can explain and apply them in a practical way is where this thing is going and I for one say thank f'ing god.
  6. Is that ranking for this signing period? That's a pretty big disparity.
  7. I heard Paxton is close to signing with the Padres.
  8. I'm out on the Louisville guys (not Levi). Davis has hands like frying pans. People get enamored with arm strength on a catcher when it's such a small part of what they do. The first 5 letters in catcher are the most important. He'll hit a little and he has great makeup but it's not enough to make up for the defensive deficiency. I guess I shouldn't say I'm out on Binelas but he has a ton to prove. He has a history of beating up on below average pitching and getting blown up against good pitching that goes back to the summer high school circuit. He has to prove he can hit the friday and saturday starters and not just beat up on the sunday and weekday guys or he'll end up another Corey Ray who did the same thing. He has a spring to prove it.
  9. I think the reason they were so risk averse was because they were picking towards the top so they went after safer college players. Now that they are further down I'm hoping they will loosen that up and target higher ceiling players. It looks like a good draft to do it.
  10. I meant his ranking is crazy high. I get it falls off a cliff after 5 but come on man. Dalquist and McClure both add up to a 51 but he has them as future 40's.
  11. Good job. College pitcher is always a safe bet. I think this is the perfect year for them to go high upside high school position player. The system is oviously in dire need for that type of player and picking in the back part of the draft is where those types of players are usually land. This time last year some thought Pete Crow Armstrong was a 1-1 candidate and he ended up going 19th. They should have a few really good high upside guys to chose from at 22.
  12. His grades, future grades and writeups don't add up. It's very confusing to read. It's like he's trying to cover as many feasible outcomes as possible so he won't be "wrong." Oh well whatever. He's crazy high on Burdi. He must have seen him good somewhere in college.
  13. Find yourself someone who will love you as much as Longenhagen loves Nick Madrigal.
  14. I think you're a little light on his market. You can add the Dodgers, Giants, Phillies, Blue Jays and Astros. I get what you're saying but I don't think he has to worry about being the reliever left standing without a chair.
  15. and until that actually starts happening there is no reason for him to rush into anything.
  16. I don't think the first part is true. If multiple teams are offering 4 years why not wait it out for a higher AAV? If you're the guy at the top of the market there's no reason to rush it. The second part is nauseating.
  17. It doesn't sound like it's going to be an easy sum. 4 years for a reliever is outragous. I like Bradley. He has good stuff and closing experience. I think there's another gear in there too. He's the type of guy that can catch fire and throw the absolute shit out of it for a year Cliff Politte style.
  18. I get it but relievers are so volatile I'd rather see them use that money to strengthen the rotation especially if they can get a good deal on a guy like Tanaka or Odorizzi. Then they can sign someone like Archie Bradley. That would make a pretty damn good pitching staff.
  19. Just walk around like you belong and you'll be fine. A forged MLB scout ID would help too.
  20. It's going that way everywhere. Parents have to do a better job of informing themselves on where they send their kids for instruction. There are a lot of bad dudes out there stealing money by selling some crazy ass shit. I can't believe what some of these guys are teaching kids.
  21. Kudos. I wish more coaches would take that approach.
  22. Did Hector throw the screwball as an amatuer or did he develop it as a pro? I don't thnk I've ever heard of an amatuer who threw a screwgy. I've certainly never seen one. Instead of throwing it you'd save the kid a lot of time if you just hit him in the elbow with a hammer.
