  1. Resigning him woud have been all about his catching. Hahn obviously didn't see the staff reacting so negatively to Grandal even though it was all out there.
  2. They easily could have signed him. He wanted to stay and be part of a winner. Hahn made his bed now he has to lie in it.
  3. Seattle has some big time impact prospects ready to hit. Realmuto would be a great for them. That team is going to pop.
  4. Until they make some rule changes that's the way the game is being played today.
  5. Pederson can produce runs on his own while Eaton needs someone to knock him in and I don't subscribe to the theory that they have enough good hitters so they can sacrifice one of the biggest run producing positions on the field. I don't know if Pederson will have a higher WAR and I honestly don't care. I don't think WAR is the gospel of determining the value of baseball players.
  6. Pederson is a left handed middle of the order bat who can knock the ball out of the yard. That's a big difference in terms of production.
  7. The problem is he's not a right fielder. He doesn't profile there and he doesn't fit in the lineup. It's an awful signing especially considering all the other right fielders on the market. Why is it so hard for this organization to find a god damn prototypical right fielder.
  8. Teflon Rick lives on. There's a piece to all this that is missing. I hope it comes out one day.
  9. They wanted Vaughn and Dunning. Texas has wanted Dunning since the Nats drafted him one pick ahead of them. I was hoping they would come off him but they were adamant. Oh well. You gotta give to get.
  10. The best thing they can do for the pitching staff is bring McCann back.
  11. How many bad contracts have to be handed out to closers before they realize it's a really bad idea.
  12. No they're not. Use that money saved in RF to bring McCann back.
  13. What a great interview. He's such a great fit for this team. No nonsense guy who just wants the ball and compete. The young guys on this team are going to learn a lot from him.
  14. Being absolutely thrilled about this trade seems so long ago.
  15. They signed a right fielder to hit god damn 8th. Right field is supposed to be a power position but they have 2 slap dicks at the bottom of the order. There were SO many better options. What the fuck.
  16. The only good explanation is if this frees them up to spend money to bring in someone big but it doesn't sound like they're going after the right guy. This sucks.
  17. That's a featherweight fight I'd pay good money to watch.
  18. I don't like this. I'm going to need a very good explanation for it.
  19. Williams has had a weird career arc. I get the Pittsburgh reclamation guy idea and if they see something they think can be tinkered they should bring him in but just as a lottery ticket. He can't be the guy they're counting on to plop in the back of the rotation and get quality innings from.
