  1. Colin Rea would be an interesting waiver claim. Slightly more expensive slightly better version of Chris Flexen. I'm a little surprised the holy s%*# cheap as f*** Brewers weren't able to trade him.
  2. Really? With Kopech's history of poor performance, injury and considerable baggage you think they should have gotten more based on 5 appearances? The Dodgers took a flier on him because they can afford to take risks that other teams can't. If another GM makes that move and it goes sideways (which was a strong possibility) that's a move that could get a GM fired. No one was going to put their balls on the table for Michael Kopech.
  3. That play will haunt Cole for the rest of his life. Get your dumbass over there.
  4. It's a narrative crushing hire. They didn't hire the LaRussa guy, the cheap guy or the ex-Royal guy. They hired the best available young manager who has turned down other manager jobs which means Chris had to sell him on his vision for the organization. It's a very exciting hire.
  5. Oh wow I didn't know that was his son. That Kid has a chance to be somethin special.
  6. I think Ford is interesting but I wouldn't take him at 1-10 either. I think this years HS class has a chance to be promising too. There are like 6-7 shortstops who have a chance to be pretty good. I like Ebel and Willits and you also have Carlson, Cunningham, James, Franco and Gambel though he may end up in CF. If these guys continue to get better they're gonna get a good player at 1-10.
  7. If he performs you're looking at a Brock Wilken type. He was a first rounder. That's obviously the high end but Ford has that type of ability.
  8. I was told they're still doing final interviews and nothing has been decided yet.
  9. I talked to someone who recently saw him and said if he performs in the spring he could go in the 1st. He doesn't have a position and the swing isn't ideal but he makes it work. The power is legit.
  10. Yes. No communication between departments. Everyone was to report directly to Hahn/Haber because those two dipshits wanted to control everything. They destroyed every department in the organization.
  11. You're likely more qualified than the guy they had in there before.
  12. There could be another name in the mix that hasn't been made public.
  13. Law has been doing the backpeddle boogie on Montgomery for a while now.
  14. LaRussa is part of the interview team so......
  15. The benefit would be the new minority owner would have complete control of baseball operations.
  16. Yes which is why I don't think he's looking to sell his shares of the White Sox I think he's looking to sell the minority shares of the White Sox. He wants one minority owner/group to come in and help him finance the new stadium. If the state won't help pay for the stadium he'll find someone else who will.
  17. or they're selling the minority shares to a new group who will help finance the new stadium.
  18. They did interview a number of people last time and are interviewing a lot of people this time but the people doing the interviewing this time is very different and unlike last time they are narrowing the list down to 4-5 candidates and doing a second round of interviews with others joining the interviews. They have a much better chance of hiring the right guy this time than they did the last time.
  19. Big day for Montgomery. He's looking good and the back doesn't seem to be bothering him. It's a Festivus miracle!
