Cannon Balls looking like he belongs. -
They're saying he's just tired but it's hard to imagine that's all it is. It sucks. Hopefully it's not something too serious.

There are people who don't like Condon's swing and there are rumors of some shady stuff going on at Georgia. I think they have Wetherholt over Bazzana.

Of all the dumb ideas baseball has instituted over the last few years the extra wildcard may be the worst. The Cubs could have easily spent more money on a hitter or bullpen arms but they didn't have to because they knew they would be in the middle of that last wildcard race. There's a reason why so many teams are hovering around .500. Why spend more money during the off season to separate yourself from the pack when you can trade for someone at the deadline and have someone else pay half the money.

That's a ridiculous way for a GM and scouting department to operate. Their job is to bring in the best talent with the highest ceilings. Of course they want them to be up the middle players but if the best player available with the greatest chance to be a high impact player is a corner then you take that player and how the owner spends his money is about the furthest thing from the equation as possible.

An organization that is desperate for left handed power the top left handed power bat will be difficult to pass up.

He's owed $49.3M over the next 3 years. That contract is an anchor. They have to get out of it to move forward. -

I don't think that's gonna happen. Now the question is do they take the prospect haul for both Robert and Crochet or do they make one of the acquiring teams take on Benintendi so they can get out from under that god awful horrific contract. -

Man I love pitchers with an overhead windup. Cannon just oozes old school workhorse type starter. The Sox have a chance to have a very interesting starting rotation in the not too distant future. -
The thing I like most about him is he's different and you don't see a lot of different in today's game. He's an out getter. His other pitches play up off that outstanding changeup. He left one ball out over the plate that was hit hard for a double and the Big Dumper was able to keep his hands back just long enough to somehow keep that ball fair but besides that it was just a bunch of weak contact. Weak grounders and lazy flyballs. He has a couple things he has to work on but once he learns what works and what doesn't at the big league level he's going to be carving fools up with that change.

You know it's an incredible changeup when he gets a strikeout looking.
