  1. They traded Steele Walker for 42 games of Mazara. I don't think it's that easy of a decision.
  2. You could hang out all the drawers in Cook County on that liner, Whimpy.
  3. 6'3" 180 and projectable as all hell. Short and quick to the ball and has a chance to stay at SS. He looks like a top half of the 1st round guy.
  4. He doesn't look like a middle but damn that's a big strong dude with a really nice swing.
  5. It doesn't get to game 3 if they had Lynn.
  6. I get it but Lynn makes them so much better. They easliy win that series with the A's (a legit playoff team) if they traded for him at the deadline and you would really like their chances against Houston. Is Steiever worth a trip to the ALCS? It will be interesteing to see who else comes on the trade market but I figure they already laid the groundwork for a trade with Texas and there is definitely a fit.
  7. I'd trade Stiever and think real hard about Cease. Lynn makes them a pretty good staff. They'll spend their money on a couple bullpen arms and a DH while they play the service time game with Vaughn. Maybe a backup catcher if they have no faith in Collins.
  8. I think they'll revisit the Lance Lynn trade.
  9. I just don't see them spending a lot of money this off season and the money they do spend will be on pitching.
  10. Nomar Mazara is the opening day RF.
  11. If this team showed anything this year it's that they can take a punch. I will never understand why Ricky was so scared to give up a run in the 1st inning.
  12. That's why I said it usually happens at once. There are times when the ligament is so significantly frayed that it just breaks away which is what happened to Kopech. The more more frequent injury is the ligament snapping at once.
  13. He pulled his starter in the 1st and burned his three best relievers by the 3rd. He managed scared and the team knew it.
  14. It usually happens at once. A pitcher will tell you he either felt it snap or heard it pop. They know the moment it happens. That's why i'm optimistic it's a strain or a cramp. He didn't react like it snapped.
  15. Right or wrong they did hang their hat on him so they had to give him a chance to do his job. He was one pitch away from getting out of the (first) inning and then it's a completly different game but we'll never know because Ricky chose to panic and put the bullpen in a terrible spot for the next 8.1 innings. We do know how that turned out.
  16. He threw 15 pitches. Good lord man he wasn't out there long enough to look like shit. I'm starting to think Ricky thought this was a double header and he was managing a 7 inning game.
  17. We'll never know because Ricky yanked him after giving up 2 singles. Two. Fucking. Singles.
  18. He used 9 pitchers. The odds of 9 pitchers all throwing well on the same day is zero. Ricky fucked the game up when he panicked and pulled the guy built to give innings with two outs in the 1st god damn inning. He put the team in a bad situation from jump and they could never recover.
  19. The bullpen was a disaster because he put them all in awfull situations. He showed them all he had no faith in them.
  20. I can't believe how much Diekman throws across his body. I also can't belive his hips haven't fallen off.
