Maybe one day we can have a rational discussion about this but that day is not today. -

Pineda might literally crap bigger than Madrigal. -
The Marlins are calling up Jazz Chisholm. Awesome. This dude has a chance to be a superstar.

MLB is trying its damndest to kill scouting but smart teams will never let that happen. Technology is a tool but it will never tell you if an18-21 year old can play. Only experience and getting to know the player will tell you that and that's what scouts do. Teams that think they can look at a computer screen to tell them if a kid can play are in for a rude awakening.

It's a money grab. They want to take control of the amateur summer circuit. There's obviously a shit ton of money to be made and they're tired of seeing all of it going to Perfect Game and PBR. It's just going to be a very difficult transition and I have zero faith they will do it right.

What was the reasoning behind thinking Heuer was being traded? Just because he didn't pitch in 3 days? That whole thing didn't make any sense. -
There's a difference between a reach and a money saver. Schwarber was not a reach. They paid him $1.5M underslot. He was a money saver.

He's hitting the ball too hard. He needs to hit more dribblers and gernades. -
Scwarber wasn't a reach he was a money saver. The Cubs paid him a $3.125M signing bonus. The Sox paid Rodon a $6.5M signing bonus. He was a tremendous pick by the Cubs. They got the better player for less than half the money.

It's going to mess up the draft schedule because teams won't have the entire summer to scout next years group. Major summer events like PG National, East Coast Pro, Under Armour Game, PG all star game, Area Codes and numerus summer tournaments will all be affected or canceled. It's also going to mess up summer college leagues. I don't think they fully understand the summer scouting circuit. They will most definitely reduce the draft and that is also a mistake. Teams are being short sighted because they look at it as paying players who won't make it to the big leagues when in reality they are playing against the guys who will make it to the big leagues. Those guys have to play and develop against someone.

He's getting the Not Rowan Wick account fired up as we speak.
-
They got Mr Marlin's kid. Damn I loved him in the draft.
-
Texas will also land $133K in international slot compensation in the deal. And the Sox could have traded away more international slot money! What a missed opportunity.
-
Looks like they're moving the draft to middle of July. I really hope they thought this thru but something tells me they didn't. This is going to fuck a lot of shit up.

The Blue Jays got Robbie Ray and $300k for a guy similar to Jace Fry. Huh

Padres Acquire Clevinger per Multiple Reports

I like Owen Miller. He could be the Indians starting SS if/when Lindor leaves but the trade as a whole looks to be quantity over quality. -
He did exactly what the Sox wanted him to do. He made people think there was actually a chance the Sox would trade for Clevenger.

Preller is a legit crazy person and I absolutely love him for it. -
It's a really scary time to be a seller right now. Teams have no idea what they're getting back. These prospects aren't playing games and scouts aren't allowed to watch their workouts at alternative sites. They could being trading for a guy who is not the same player he was 9 months ago. Hard to pull the trigger on a big move when you're not 100% in on what you're getting in return.
