  1. It's not the same scout. Dalquist was in Southern Cal. Abel is in Oregon.
  2. This guy is just starting to scratch the surface of how good he can be. That last change is nasty.
  3. A 4th rounder 6 years later. Ok sure.
  4. They haven't drafted anyone like him since.
  5. Crochet and Fulton. Two lefties with top of the rotation stuff.
  6. Hard to believe that has to be said. If they can't develop athletes then change the development department not the drafting philosophy.
  7. Ok it was Winn. I also like him better as a hitter but i'm out on the makeup.
  8. It sure seems like the owners made a bullshit offer because they want to force a 48 game svhedule at prorated salary because they know some players won't play and that's less salary to pay and more money in their greedy pockets.
  9. I think it was Jones who had a makeup issue at the Area Code games or maybe it was Mayson Winn. I get those two confused.
  10. No chance I'm taking a guy my scouts have literally never seen.
  11. Kopech was much more projectable. Kelley has a maxed out body and maxed out stuff.
  12. Damn that's my dude. Interesting to see if he ends up at a LSU or a JC. I'm gonna guess a JC.
  13. They would be passing on too much talent to underslot Kelley. The only guy I would consider an underslot deal with is Ed.
  14. I do have some concerns about Bailey that pushes him down the board. I don't like his swing. He has a deep load which means he pushes his hands back and that creates an arm bar and he does this from both sides of the plate. Arm bars are subjective as some will tell you there are hall of famers who had an arm bar but I feel it makes it very difficult to consistently barrel up an inside fastball. I also question his durability. Durability is one of if not the biggest qualities for a catcher. Big league catchers take an absolute beating and Bailey's not the biggest guy in the word. I'm not sure he's a guy that can consistently catch you 120+ games a season. I feel there will be much better options available at 1-11.
  15. Pref list: Austin Martin Asa Lacy Spencer Torkelson Zack Veen Emerson Hancock Max Meyer Mick Abel Garrett Crochet Cade Cavalli Heston Kjerstad Reid Detmers Robert Hassell Ed Howard Cole Wilcox Tyler Soderstrom
  16. Awesome to see the owners cave. I guess that internal email wasn't a smoking gun afterall.
  17. Ok sure I must have missed those parts. Ummm... thanks for clearing that up??
  18. I'm not sure this gets them much closer to an agreement. The players didn't budge from the pro rated salaries which is the biggest point of contention and the owners will say they will lose more money by playing more games so that's also a non starter. The expanded playoffs and deferred money are small and easy concessions. The fact they have to negotiate players opting not to play is alarming.
  19. I'm still holding firm at I'll believe it when I see it. There are too many differing agendas. Some owners don't want to play some players don't want to play and neither side seems to want to budge on a salary structure. I hope they find a way to get it done but that's a lot of obstacles to clear and the clock is ticking.
  20. There are definitely some similarities. They're both tall left handers with nasty stuff but they do it different. Sale's delivery is much more violent than Crochet's. Sale is more across his body with a low 3/4 arm slot that makes his already great stuff play up because he's able to create crazy angles on his pitches. Crochet does it easier lands closed and has a more traditional 3/4 arm slot. Mechanics wise Crochet is closer to Andrew Miller than Chris Sale. I'm not sure you can ever comp anyone to Chris Sale. The guy's a freak.
  21. Class organization. Good on the Royals. This is something the ivy league front offices of today just don't understand.
