  1. 5 teams (O's, Miami, KC, SD, Rockies) have 2 selections between the Sox 1st and 2nd round picks. It will be extremely risky to try to float someone to the 2nd round.
  2. I would be shocked if Mlodzinski is still available at 47.
  3. So how are those revenue negotiations going?
  4. I think teams will stay true to what they are. The conservative teams will grab the safe college guys and the aggressive teams will grab the high ceiling riskier high school guys.
  5. There's a lot of Tyler Soderstrom love. Some think he's the best prep hitter in the class. He's likely not going to stick at catcher but he's athletic enough to handle a corner and the bat will certainly play.
  6. Comparing Cavalii to Hansen is very lazy. They went to the same school and that's where the comparison ends. Cavalli is far more athletic than Hansen and has a much cleaner more repeatable delivery. Cavalli also hasn't entirely focused on pitching because he's a pretty good hitter and still got better going into his draft year while Hansen shit the bed. Cavilli has some of the best upside in the entire draft.
  7. I'm not sure there will as many $20K signings as people think. When MLB eliminates the minor league affiliates they will cap how many players an organization can have in the minors because they don't want teams just adding more AZL/GCL teams. That means there's a chance if a team signs a free agent they will have to release a player already in the organization. A team will do that for a guy they really like but not just to take a $20k flyer. Add to that the fact that owners are trying to save every penny they can and these guys probably won't even play this year I don't see a lot of FA action happening.
  8. Jeff 1:20 Who blinks on this revenue split - owners or players? Keith Law 1:21 Owners. I don't think the negotiated agreement from March even allows owners to revisit this.
  9. The owners are the ones who want to renegotiate. The players just want what they already agreed to. Jerry Reinsdorf should listen to Jerry Reinsdorf.
  10. Nick Gonzalez would be that guy for me. I'm not in on Hendrick or Kelley either.
  11. He's a consistent performer in the SEC. Teams like that.
  12. Good stuff thank you for sharing. It's weird both had them linked to Bailey. It wouldn't upset me but not the direction I want them to go.
  13. They'll stay away in much higher numbers if they blame the owners.
  14. Uh yeah. After the 1994 strike the fans "literally" booed the players.
  15. It matters a ton. You can see how badly the owners need fans in the stadium. If the fans blame the owners for not playing this season they may not go out to games when they do finally play.
  16. Another college bat. Interesting. Thank you.
  17. In a public negotiation being "right" absolutely is leverage. If it wasn't the owners wouldn't be on this smear campaign.
  18. Keith Law mock draft. Hook a brother up.
  19. The players have leverage because they are in the right. They already agreed to a pay structure. If the owners want to come back and renegotaite that agreement they will have to give up something in return and I hope it's somethng big.
  20. They're a ruthless bunch but they own the laundry which means the players will once again be the bad guys.
