  1. Keep all the revenue and share the losses. Hell of a business model.
  2. I think they ultimately will agree to some sort of pay cut (though not this one) but they will get something in return and I hope they take a big ole bite out of the owners asses.
  3. It's going to be shot down. The players say they have already negotiated the pay structure.
  4. What was once an easy decision is now much more difficult for HS players. No one knows what the draft will look like going forward so I still think all the top HS guys sign. The reason I say they need to get Kelley at a significant savings is I don't think he's the best HS pitcher. If they take Kelley at 11 they better know they're gonna get dudes with the 2nd and 3rd picks. As far as college guys signing it will depend on if teams include college. I still haven't heard a definitive yes or no on that. If it's just $20k with no school they should just stay and get their degree.
  5. Depends how the rest of the draft plays out. If they get him at a low number then overslot their 2nd and 3rd rounders I'd be kinda ok with it. Not the way I'd go but it's a plan.
  6. They already agreed to a prorated pay scale but the owners are proposing a paycut on top of that.
  7. The players pay cut proposal will go over like a lead balloon.
  8. He has red flags other than his size. There's violence in the delivery and there are some mechanical issues but teams pay for tools and stuff at the top of the draft and there is no doubt he has big time stuff. I also think he'll be gone before the Sox pick at 11.
  9. Luke Little throwing 105 in a bullpen. ?
  10. Owners are hell bent on saving money so I'm not sure how much they will allocate for FA's. They may just say here's a $100k do what you can.
  11. That's umm...that's an interesting mock. Yeesh
  12. I'm with ya Jack. The dude is big nasty and left handed. No need to over think this. I'm just afraid he's not going to be there at 11.
  13. The baseball people want the draft longer but the owners see it as an unneccessary expense considering the draftees most likely won't be playing this year and money is going to be very tight even if they're able to come to a pay scale agreement.
  14. He wasn't being selfish or greedy. He set the bar higher for the free agents coming after him.
  15. All of the above and straight from the Rahm Emanuel playbook.
  16. That's not true. 80% of teams will lose money playing games with no fans in the stadium.
  17. If this were a scenario like the past where they were just fighting over how to divvy up the pie I would agree they would find a way to make it work but this scenario is different because there is no pie to divvy up.
