  1. Can you believe that? Traded for a bench player. Unfreakinbelievable.
  2. Holy crap Luery may actually be better than this guy. What. The. Hell.
  3. He's under team control til 2024 at $3.5M a year with a bunch of incentives. I didn't realize his contract was that weird.
  4. Thanks for the advice but I'd rather complain here.
  5. For what? A RF? He panicked and already traded for one.
  6. What the F is going on. If Pederson gets traded and Hahn settled for Mazara I'm gonna be PISSED!!!!!
  7. They could. Baltimore and Pittsburgh are gonna be right there too.
  8. They could if they bring up some of their arms in the 2nd half. It's going to be interesting to see how they play that.
  9. Kiley is replacing Keith Law at ESPN. That's a massive downgrade.
  10. For some reason I got USA Today confused with Sports Illustrated and was shocked they were actually pretty close. This isn't terrible. Cubs in 4th. Ouch
  11. Driving in runs is a skill but RBI is a poor stat to evaluate it because it's a counting stat based on opportunity. wRC+ is much better.
  12. The ballpark doesn't affect the exit velocity which was the point.
  13. It's not geared for power. It's more an opposite field line drive (his launch angles are also poor) approach. Not exactly what you're looking for in a power hitting 1b.
  14. Sheets posted below avg exit velocities especially for a 1B. That and his approach is going to catch up to him.
  15. It has to do with the way service time is calculated. It is currently calculated by days which makes it much easier to manipulate. I saw one proposal that said it would be calculated by quarters. The theory is that would make it much more difficult to manipulate the service time while still giving the player a fair chance to start his free agent clock when he's ready.
  16. People are missing the point of this grievance. It is not Kris Bryant vs the Cubs it's Scott Boras vs the Owners. Scott Boras is the biggest player advote in baseball and hates the greedy owners with a white hot passion (which is almost as much as I hate them). He understands as well as anyone the system is broken and heavily tilted in the owners favor. This was just the first volley in what is going to be a fierce fight over service time manipulation and arbitration. All I have to say is go get em, Scott!
  17. I don't think they'll want to set a career high in innings the first year off injury. He has to build back up to that.
  18. I'd be surprised if they let him throw that many innings. I figure he'd be in the 110-120 range.
  19. I'm much more interested in who they hire as GM. That will show the direction of the organization. Bobby Evans would be a great hire.
  20. Trading 2 low level players is not mortgaging the future. They're gonna be drafting 40 more of them in a few months.
