I do not want that. These guys are big and strong enough that they don't have to try to hit home runs to hit home runs. Consistentlty drive the baseball and it will go over the fence. Be dangerous.
The Rangers changed their hitting philosophy. They want to get away from the big power high strike out low obp approach they've had. Gallo showed he can change his approach. Mazara did not. There will be others following him out the door.
He has to be willing to make the neccessary adjustments to get better. The Rangers tried and tried and tried and ultimately gave up on him. Not a good sign.
I really like that they traded for a young player rather than signing a 30 yr old free agent I just wish they would have traded for a better young player.
I like Wade Miley. He was really good for four months last year then got his brains beatin in because he was tipping his pitches. He'd be a real nice get on a 2 yr deal.
I don't know and honestly I don't care. I put little to no value in any prospect ranking list. The Marlins bought low on him because that was most likely the only time he would ever be available. It was a bold move and I hope it works out for them.
His stolen base totals and success rate went down at every level. He's not going to be a stolen base guy at the big league level and he'll hit at the bottom of the order.
Davis was really bad last year but closing games in Colorado is the hardest job in baseball. If it means getting Gray I'd take a chance on Davis at least being servicable outside that pitching hell hole.
