This free agent class outside of the top two guys who the Sox have zero chance of signing is very underwhelming. Good GM's struggle filling holes via free agency and Rick Hahn is no where near a good GM so I'd like to see him to acquire upgrades via trades. Hahn seems to be a little better at the trade game.

It's funny they rag on the Twins for having guys who were busted for juicing but want the Sox to get a guy who was busted for juicing.

I don't think you need the dog and pony show of ping pong balls and draft wheels. Just incentivise teams that come the closest to making the playoffs. If they did that the Tigers wouldn't be sitting here with 46 wins. They would be trying to win games to move up in draft position. What a concept. -

You don't have to do the ping pong thing. Just reward teams for trying. -

The team with the best record who doesn't make the playoffs gets the first pick and on down. So this year Cleveland would get the 1st pick and Detroit would get the 20th. That would put an end to the race to the bottom. -

They shouldn't get rewarded for a season like this. -

This game barely passes for a major league baseball game. MLB has to do something to stop the race to the bottom. It's unwatchable. -

If the manager has a soft spot in his heart for players who are like him they should hire Mike Trout to be the manager. -
It wouldn't take Vaughn. I think even Van Weenie would see Vaughn and Alonso as redundant. I'd trade Madrigal in a hot second.
-
Conforto has a very high OBP, is controlled for 2 years, plays above avg defense, can hit lots of home runs and can stay healthy.
-
Nimmo is a former client. The Mets can keep him. Trade for the better player.
-
The Mets have too many OF's and Conforto is not a former Van Weenie client. Of course they do. Stop yourself.
-
Whatever it takes.

Clevenger takes the Dominican finish to a new level. -
You have to give to get. Not giving up anything significant for a shitty player and hoping he turns into a good player rarely works out.

I think a Chimpanzee can manage the White Sox better than Ricky Renteria but that doesn't mean I want a Chimpanzee to manage the White Sox next season.

He's at the big prospect farm in the sky.

Ha. I do like my high ceiling position guys but there are a lot of college arms to like too. RHP Emerson Hancock (Georgia) has the best combination of body, athleticism and stuff. There's some effort to the delivery and he was ouchy last spring but he looks to have the highest ceiling among the college arms. RHP JT Ginn (Miss St) is a draft eligible sophomore who was a 1st round pick by the Dodgers but decided to go to school so if you think they know something about drafting players (they do) he would be a nice target. RHP Cole Wilcox (Georgia) is a big bastard and another draft eligible sophomore with a heavy fastball plus secondaries and plus command. He's probably the best combination of floor and ceiling among the college arms. He won't turn 21 until a month after the draft. LHP Asa Lacy (Texas A&M) is a pitchabilty lefty who gets it done more with deception than big stuff and those guys scare me this high in the draft. LHP Reid Detmers (Louisville) is another guy who doesn't show a big fastball but his plus plus curveball is a separator and the change and command are improving. Again top 10 may be too high. RHP Tommy Mace (Florida) is the guy I'm most interested in seeing this spring. He's tall (6'6”) and wiry and nasty as shit but his command comes and goes. If he's able to make a couple adjustments he could easily jump into the top 10. He reminds me a little of Jack McDowell. RHP Tanner Burns (Auburn) has really good shit but is an undersized righty with a max effort delivery. Reminds me too much of Carson Fulmer. I'm out. A few other guys I'll be watching closely are LHP Jake Eder (Vandy), Joe Boyle and his 100+ fastball (Notre Dame) and LHP Luke Little (San Jac)

It's impossible to believe there could be 10 teams that have had worse seasons than this god awful bunch. MLB has a serious tanking issue that needs to be addressed.
