  1. The system definitely needs an influx of athleticism/ceiling but they also need high end pitching. I think it's gonna be awfully hard for them to pass on a dude they can pencil in the rotation in a couple years. I'd like to see them pop a college pitcher at 1-11 and then load up on high school athletes the rest of the draft.
  2. Yes Hancock on Friday and Wilcox on Saturday.
  3. These are the guys I'll be keeping an eye on. That's a big pile of college pitching man goo. Georgia- Emerson Hancock and Cole Wilcox Mississippi St- JT Ginn Texas A&M- Asa Lacy Florida- Tommy Mace Oklahoma- Cade Cavalli Florida St- CJ Van Eck Louisville- Reid Detmers Miami- Chris McMahon and Slade Cecconi Tennessee- Garrett Crotchet Vandy- Jake Eder South Carolina- Carmen Mlodzinski
  4. College baseball starts tomorrow. There are a dozen pitchers I expect to come out and announce their presence with authority. This is going to be a really fun spring.
  5. Those 5 combined innings they threw really blew every one away!!!!!
  6. So Longenhagen is projecting Wander Franco to be a Hall of Famer. That's uh....that's aggressive.
  7. Players with a .400 obp last season: Mike Trout (.438) Christian Yelich (.429) Alex Bregman (.432) Anthony Rendon (.412) Cody Bellinger (.406) Juan Soto (.401)
  8. The whole thing was a joke. MLB investigated the bare minimum and then tried to sweep it under the rug. What they reported was the tip of the iceburg and they wanted no part of doing anymore than that. Every god damn person in that entire organization knew exactly what was going on. Lots of really smart people suddenly playing dumb. They should all be banned from baseball and Crane should have been forced to sell the team.
  9. Collins consistently hits the ball much harder than Sheets. Collins: Avg exit velo velo: 92mph 95+ mph: 50% 105+ mph: 7% Sheets: Avg exit velo: 88 mph 95+ mph: 40% 105+ mph: 5% Collins launch angles are also avg to above avg where Sheets is avg to below avg. Collins profiles as an avg power hitting 1B whereas Sheets is well below avg.
  10. It always cracks me up when people get their panties in a bunch over this. More bulletin board material for the Cubs!
  11. Do you know how hard it is to find a league average 2B?
  12. At least Levine gave the correct medicals.
  13. Collins can get on base and hit home runs. Sheets can not.
  14. That same GM gave us 7 consecutive losing seasons. Some of us are holding him to a higher standard than hey at least we're not really shitty anymore.
  15. Here's a good example of a player who injected after age 26/27.
  16. Not being able to catch cost him a ton of value but having him behind Sheets is ridiculous.
  17. Teams will play a 5 man infield to take away the swinging bunt.
  18. This is why he was mad at the Dodgers. He felt they were holding him back from reaching his incentives.
  19. The Sox have tons of money to spend but heavens to betsy they couldn't possibly trade prospects (GASP!) for 1 year of Mookie Betts.
  20. Weird how they asked so much from the Sox got took so little from the Angels. The team that kept their powder dry made out like bandits.
  21. Are the Dodgers sending more players to the Red Sox or did they really only trade Alex Verdugo and Kenta Maeda for Mookie freakin Betts and David Price?
  22. Can you believe that? Traded for a bench player. Unfreakinbelievable.
  23. Holy crap Luery may actually be better than this guy. What. The. Hell.
