  1. He has a slow bat. He can cheat in AA. Can't cheat in the big leagues.
  2. Sheets can't play. Move him for a bag of balls. Heuer is interesting. I'd ride that one out.
  3. Yeah. Hang on to them too long and guys figure out they can't play. Best to move them when there's still some shiney new thing on them.
  4. Isn't a less useful Joc Pederson Kyle Schwarber?
  5. Chapman pitched in 13 games that postseason. Maddon overused him but they don't even get to the WS without him.
  6. I'm in then sign Conforto to a big ole fat extension.
  7. It's always follow the money but with this clown it's follow his former clients. Nimmo (a former client) is projected to make $1.7M in arbitration this year. No reason to trade him now. Michael Conforto (Boras client) is projected to make $9.2M this year with another arb eligible year in 2021. That's a significant savings.
  8. Ha. Preller traded for Jurickson Profar. Should have seen that coming when he traded Urias. It was only a matter of time before he got his man.
  9. Bingo. Finding a league avg 2B should not be difficult. They just released one.
  10. They can't rat hole these "assets" forever. Not every minor leaguer is going to be an everyday big leaguer so getting value for the ones they don't see helping the big league club is a smart move. They better move soon because some of them are depreciating quickly.
  11. Mike Trout struck out 184 times and won an MVP. Guess he's a poor hitter.
  12. O'Dowd hasn't worked in a FO since 2014 so you can only imagine how far ahead FO's are today than the general public.
  13. They don't use bwar or fwar but yes every front office uses their own version of war to evaluate/project players and player salaries.
  14. They get very snitty when guys won't take less money to play for them.
  15. interesting article about this trade on Fangraphs. It seems Urias made a swing change to add some power that didn't work. His swing and miss went up but his exit velocity did not. Too much soft contact. Longenhagen is a fan so he's still holding out hope for some physical projection at 22 yrs old. SS is the place to play a low impact bat but there's a question if he can be league average there. The Brewers are light up the middle but this looks to be a very risky move.
  16. He made a big jump but damn does Preller love his OF's. Manuel Margot, Trent Grisham, Hunter Renfroe, Wil Myers, Franchy Cordero, Josh Naylor and he traded for Taylor Trammell earlier this year. Preller would field an entire team of OF's if he could.
  17. Lucchesi is definitely a funkmaster. He's fun to watch but I'm not sure how long he stays in one piece.
