  1. Nah. Then these dopes may bring him up again to serve no purpose but make outs.
  2. He's one of only 3 #MLB prospects who has a 70+ fastball & 65+ breaking ball. Who are the others? Whitley, Gore and Mize?
  3. Stuff: Kopech, Cease, Giolito Results: Giolito, Cease, Kopech
  4. Great sell on that change. He has 3 plus pitches. Aces have 3 plus pitches.
  5. Yep. It has some sinking action but he'll get more swings and misses on the sell more than the movement.
  6. Damn that's a curveball. Can't wait to see this slider.
  7. I was wondering that too. The shape looked the same so maybe he just threw that one harder but if he has a different shaped slider on top of that good lord.
  8. Cease has a great look. Love his delivery, the fastball has life and the curveball is a hammer. He was missing up and away which is a sure sign of overthrowing due to nerves and is easily correctable. He's gonna be a real good one.
  9. They could release Daniel Palka so they can sign......Daniel Palka.
  10. Ricky is in his glory when those annoying American players aren't in the way.
  11. No it's not. They've already done PG National, MLB PDP, Area Code tryouts and they are now playing the WWBA. We've seen enough to know this class has a chance to be special.
  12. Looks like a very good year to have a top 10 pick. The HS class is stacked.
  13. There are scouts who don't get drafts every year. An organization has about 20 area scouts and the draft is 40 rounds. That's 2 a guy before you factor in the draft is dominated by players in California, Florida and Texas. Then you have an organization that punts on later round picks to take the god damn groundskeepers son and your chances of getting a guy are even less. It's very easy to get shutout but hell you got it all figured out. Just convince them to take an upper round guy. I wonder why no one else thought of that. Thank you for your concern but I'll choose what I want to be angry about and passing on Alec is not it.
  14. Rare but certainly not unheard of. I have a serious issue with it because it's a giant FU to the entire scouting department. Those guys bust their asses all year spending countless nights away from their families watching game after game in shit weather then when the draft finally comes rather than taking one of their gut feel guys they spent endless time on watching and getting all the background info they take the nephew of the god damn traveling secretary. It's bad form and an awful way to run an organization. Edit: just this week a 32nd round pick (John St Locke) and an undrafted guy (Mike Brosseau) made their big league debuts. I get the casual fan doesn't give a shit about these guys because they're not future Hall of Famers but this is the kind of stuff that makes a scouts career. But hey go ahead and use a late round pick on the grandson of the owner who doesn't even play god damn baseball. No one cares.
  15. Well maybe this guy can take enough steroids to kill a small horse and end up in the Hall of Fame too.
  16. No they don't and the ones that do don't go to the extent of the White Sox. They make a joke of it.
  17. He's not a prospect. He's the son of an employee. Typical White Sox bullshit using the draft as a god damn favor bank. The draft is there to find big leaguers. You wanna do this guy a favor. Give him free tickets to a game. This is why other organizations laugh at the White Sox.
