  1. The original plan was to trade for Machado the year before he hit free agency and confince him to sign an extension. They made a legit offer but Baltimore (Angelos) turned it down so it's certainly not out of the relm of possibility that they would try again with Betts.
  2. We're gonna disagree on that one. I would think if the Red Sox trade Betts they'd be looking for players with higher ceilings. But yeah if they'd take him I'm all in.
  3. I'm not sure why the Red Sox would be interested in Madrigal but if they can package him with a couple other players it's a no bariner.
  4. I really like Yolmer as a bench guy. I think he'll be non-tendered but unlike Avi he will accept the lower offer to come back. The obvious problem is Ricky will find a way to play him everyday.
  5. This free agent class outside of the top two guys who the Sox have zero chance of signing is very underwhelming. Good GM's struggle filling holes via free agency and Rick Hahn is no where near a good GM so I'd like to see him to acquire upgrades via trades. Hahn seems to be a little better at the trade game.
  6. It's funny they rag on the Twins for having guys who were busted for juicing but want the Sox to get a guy who was busted for juicing.
  7. I don't think you need the dog and pony show of ping pong balls and draft wheels. Just incentivise teams that come the closest to making the playoffs. If they did that the Tigers wouldn't be sitting here with 46 wins. They would be trying to win games to move up in draft position. What a concept.
  8. You don't have to do the ping pong thing. Just reward teams for trying.
  9. The team with the best record who doesn't make the playoffs gets the first pick and on down. So this year Cleveland would get the 1st pick and Detroit would get the 20th. That would put an end to the race to the bottom.
  10. They shouldn't get rewarded for a season like this.
  11. This game barely passes for a major league baseball game. MLB has to do something to stop the race to the bottom. It's unwatchable.
  12. If the manager has a soft spot in his heart for players who are like him they should hire Mike Trout to be the manager.
  13. It wouldn't take Vaughn. I think even Van Weenie would see Vaughn and Alonso as redundant. I'd trade Madrigal in a hot second.
  14. Conforto has a very high OBP, is controlled for 2 years, plays above avg defense, can hit lots of home runs and can stay healthy.
  15. Nimmo is a former client. The Mets can keep him. Trade for the better player.
  16. The Mets have too many OF's and Conforto is not a former Van Weenie client. Of course they do. Stop yourself.
  17. Robert CF Moncada 3B Anderson SS Conforto RF Jimenez LF Abreu 1B/DH Collins 1B/DH McCann C Madrigal 2B
