The Twins signed CJ Cron off the scrap heap and he's hitting .271/.337/.536. He cost nothing to acquire. How much better does Vaughn have to hit to justify the pick at 1-3. Even the most inept FO should easily be able to find a 1B who can be league avg.
If you live in the Chicago area you should really go to the Under Armour All American game at Wrigley Field. You can see all these guys for yourself and compare what you saw to these writeups. This years game is July 22nd.
Two very different players. Turang has a vey projectable body but didn't fill out as quickly as some would have liked (much like Cody Bellinger). Turang's going to get bigger and stronger and he will drive the ball. He's going to ba an all time miss. Madrigal on the other hand has no projection to him. None. He is what he is.
I just want them to get the best player at 1-3. I don't care about slot value, position or timeline. Don't overthink it though that shouldn't be an issue with these ass clowns. Just draft a fucking stud.
He's not real physical, maxxx effort del, long arm action, below avg command. He's got crazy arm strength but not much else to go with it. He'll be a lottery ticket for someone.
I like Kessinger too. He'll make a nice utility type player. That Ole Miss team has some interesting guys. Cooper Johnson is the best defensive catcher in the draft (his bat is light) and 1B Thomas Dillard has as much raw power as anyone. Ryan Olenek will be a Sr sign as an OF and someone might give him a look on the mound. Illinois has their hands full in that regional.
I like Lodolo but not enough to pass up one of the position players. If I'm taking a college arm at 1-3 I need a longer track record of dominance and Lodolo struggled his first two years in college. He's having a really good Junior year but it's not enough. Take a bat with the first pick then load up on high ceiling arms. It's a down year but there are plenty of arms that could be developed into big leaguers.
