  1. That's not even close to being determined yet.
  2. I don't think this is the year to try to get cute with undersloting guys because so many teams have multiple picks. The D'Backs pick 4 times, the Rays pick 3 times and the Braves, Dodgers, Rangers, Twins, Pirates, Marlins and Yankees all pick twice before the Sox 2nd round selection. They should pick the guy they have highest on the board regardless of age, position, timeline or slot value. Get the damn best player available.
  3. Meh. Lots of Thursday starts because of Easter weekend. I wish coaches would bullpen/throw a midweek guy game one to keep the Friday guys on their normal schedule. Guess that's asking too much.
  4. Jeez Emerson Hancock is completely dominating Kameron Misner. K'd him twice and made him look bad doing it. Misner will get drafted way too high based on his tools but man is that bat a long long way away.
  5. Ok it's great the the Tigers have a lot of kids at the game today but is it possible that they stop screaming like they're at a Justin Bieber concert. Good lord.
  6. That's a new name for me but if he's a big lefty who can spin it I'm in!
  7. I'd much rather see them grab an arm with the 2nd round pick. I had questions about Langeliers hit tool and durability before the injury. I'd rather them find a catcher a little later. Guys like Cooper Johnson, Drew Milas and Phillip Clarke should be around in the later rounds of day 2.
  8. They found out about Palka a long time ago. The guy isn't an enigma wrapped in a riddle. He's as subtle as a ball peen hammer. If he's not hitting home runs he's completely and utterly useless.
  9. He wasn't injured in college. He was just bad.
  10. He's a one dimensional player in the era of short benches. They need to replace him with a more well rounded player. Someone who can actually play a position or two and can not be a clogger on the base paths. Oh yeah and someone who can get a god damn hit. Get rid of the bum.
  11. Agreed. I don't think they should take a pitcher at 1-3 but I'd like to see them load up on high ceiling arms after the first round.
  12. Yep. Physically they're very different pitchers but they have the same problems. They lack the ability to repeat their mechanics that leads to bouts of extreme wildness. The 2 cent heads don't help either.
  13. The bullpen is probably his best avenue for success. He's seems like a guy that has to do as little thinking as possible. Don't think. Just go out there and throw the hell out of it.
  14. It's pretty simple. I don't accept we're bad at it so we're not going to bother as an excuse.
  15. That's really not a reason to draft him. A team has few opportunities to acquire a superstar and when they do have that opportunity they have to jump on it. There are a number of ways to acquire an average player at a low impact position. They should have gone with the player with the highest ceiling not the highest floor.
  16. Make sure the zoom works. (sorry I couldn't resist).
  17. Very. I've been wondering if he's a long term starter or if he ends up in the bullpen. He should have a lot more swings and misses and a much better k/BB ratio. I think he lacks concentration or maybe it's just a lack of pitchability. Whatever the reason he's definitely not getting the results that equal his stuff.
  18. Palka ya fuckin bum your bus is ready.
